3. The Food They Ate The Cheyenne Indians were farming people, and the crops they grew corn, squash, and beans. The men hunted deer and buffalo. They used every part of the animal they hunted.
4. The Homes They Lived In The Cheyenne Indians lived in tepees, made of buffalo hide. They were far ranging people especially when they acquired horses. By the time they met, they were living on the Great Plains. In what is now Wyoming, South Dakota, Nebraska, Colorado, and Kansas.
5. Clothing The Cheyenne Indians women wore long deer skin dresses, and men wore breechcloths and leather legging. Cheyenne men also wore moccasins. The Cheyenne Indian leaders originally wore tall feather headdresses like the Blackfeet. The leaders soon started to wear war bonnets that Plain Indians are famous for.
