Melita Garza has a Ph.D. in journalism and mass communication, and currently serves as an Associate Professor at Texas Christian University (TCU). Prior to receiving her Ph.D. at University of North Carolina, Melita Garza earned a masters of business administration from University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business, and a bachelors of arts from Harvard College. Throughout her career, Dr. Garza has received numerous awards in recognition of her ground-breaking work. In 2015, she earned a Latin American Research Award from Florida International University for her research paper, How Twitter Users Framed Sebastien De La Cruz’s Anthem Singing at the 2013 NBA Finals.
