What We Are Learning
At Bernheim
Horticulture, land management, arts, and
education, are all part of Bernheim’s mission
to connect people with nature. While each of
these areas is a separate discipline, in
practice, it is more accurate to think of them
as “lenses,” that is, different ways of looking
at and understanding nature.
Horticulture
Horticulture’s original definition
was “the culture of garden
plants.” But Bernheim's
engagement in the natural world goes far
beyond that. Bernheim houses an extensive
horticultural collection, which serves as a
major scientific and educational resource.
