Communications and stakeholder engagement - a major manufacturer

Our client had started a major business transformation programme resulting in changes to
core administration and finance systems, outsourcing some functions and changing all
internal procedures.

Maven was asked to develop a communications and stakeholder engagement programme to
increase support and buy-in for the changes taking place.

We developed a comprehensive programme of workshops and formal training courses that
enabled individuals to understand the steps involved in making each change and to identify
how they felt about the changes, and provided them with a toolset to undertake them. The
communication and stakeholder management programme was at three levels:

    •    Leading the Change – for senior managers who will be expected to trigger and lead
         business transformation, equipping them with the structure to plan the change,
         communicate it successfully to their staff and motivate and persuade them through
         it
    •    Managing the Change –for managers responsible for the implementation of the
         business transformation, equipping them with the structure and techniques of
         change management
    •    Dealing with Change –for those impacted by change, making them aware of the
         structured process that has led to the change and equipping them with techniques
         that help them to participate as fully as possible in the successful implementation of
         change

Participants develop personal action plans that specify how each individual will participate in
the business transformation and Maven is now working closely with the Change Teams to
ensure that personal action plans are being implemented and change activities are taking
place.
This communication and stakeholder management programme is well progressed in the
Finance department and Maven is about to undertake a Transformation Maturity
Assessment exercise, using its Change Experience Checklist™ with Purchasing to continue
the roll-out.

The client now has a targeted and focused training programme to address areas of
immaturity.

  • 1. Communications and stakeholder engagement - a major manufacturer Our client had started a major business transformation programme resulting in changes to core administration and finance systems, outsourcing some functions and changing all internal procedures. Maven was asked to develop a communications and stakeholder engagement programme to increase support and buy-in for the changes taking place. We developed a comprehensive programme of workshops and formal training courses that enabled individuals to understand the steps involved in making each change and to identify how they felt about the changes, and provided them with a toolset to undertake them. The communication and stakeholder management programme was at three levels: • Leading the Change – for senior managers who will be expected to trigger and lead business transformation, equipping them with the structure to plan the change, communicate it successfully to their staff and motivate and persuade them through it • Managing the Change –for managers responsible for the implementation of the business transformation, equipping them with the structure and techniques of change management • Dealing with Change –for those impacted by change, making them aware of the structured process that has led to the change and equipping them with techniques that help them to participate as fully as possible in the successful implementation of change Participants develop personal action plans that specify how each individual will participate in the business transformation and Maven is now working closely with the Change Teams to ensure that personal action plans are being implemented and change activities are taking place. This communication and stakeholder management programme is well progressed in the Finance department and Maven is about to undertake a Transformation Maturity Assessment exercise, using its Change Experience Checklist™ with Purchasing to continue the roll-out.
