Ericsson was the first company to market a device as a
"smartphone" in 2000 with the launch of the R380.
The first working smartphone was introduced by IBM
in 1994, which debuted the Simon at COMDEX.
Simon had a calendar, address book, world clock,
calculator, note pad, e-mail, fax and games, plus a
touch-screen keyboard.
