Post-reading  Assignment Write a one-paragraph diary entry for your character. Concentrate on your character’s thoughts and actions during the story, especially Part II. You should write as if you were the character, so use “I.”
Sample student work Watson I was surprised to hear that precious stone was found inside goose. It was the blue carbuncle which was stolen from the Countess of Morcar, according to the newspaper. I was very surprised again! Holmes and I started investigating the facts. We investigated some people, and traced criminal. Because the stone was returned, Holmes overlooked the criminal finally. Holmes shouted at the criminal, and he shot out of the room. I know the appearance isn't good, but it's Holmes kindness.

Assignment What do you think happened at the end of The Lady or the Tiger? Which came out of the door—the lady or the tiger?  If you were the princess or the young man, how would you want the story to end?  Write your idea on the discussion board; write at least one reply to a classmate.

However if I were the young man I would wanna fight with the tiger to get our happy life. I want them to be happy. It is difficult thing in this situation but I want this story to end happily.”
