1. No Debt! Know Mission! ...Our Future!
The No Debt! Know Mission! Capital Campaign was launched with a goal to eliminate our
$4.45 million debt so that mortgage dollars can be turned into mission and ministry dollars.
More than $2 million has already been paid on our debt and more than $1 million remains
pledged for this campaign. This leaves us with less than $1.5 million needed in additional
pledges to reach our goal of burning our mortgage in October 2013, as we celebrate the 50th
Anniversary of our church, leaving a legacy as we move into the future. Everyone needs to
participate to make this Campaign a success.
Invitation to Participate

to reflect on how we have been blessed to be a blessing and respond in thanksgiving and love
for God. Please prayerfully consider how you can respond and ask God, “What do you want
to do through me to accomplish your will for Prince of Peace?” To do the work we believe
God is asking us to do, we need everyone to respond as generously as possible.

Dear Partners in Ministry
As we approach the celebration of our 50th
Anniversary we have the opportunity to look
back and give thanks for all that God has done in and through Prince of Peace – and we have
much to celebrate. What really excites me, however, is the firm conviction that our best days
are ahead of us! I’m reminded of Isaiah’s words, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind
has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him.”
The success of this No Debt! Know Mission! Campaign will set us free from our indebtedness,
so that we might be set free for more mission and ministry. In order for us to cross the finish
line of this Campaign, each of us and all of us together will need to pray and respond to God’s
call to generosity. The need is great at this critical juncture in our history. Your generosity is
leaving a legacy for generations to come!
The world around us is changing so quickly that it sometimes makes my head spin! The world
in which we live and serve is certainly different than it was 50 years ago. The pathway that
leads into the future is a new road paved by the unchanging good news of God’s love for the
world in Jesus Christ. While staying anchored to Christ, I am working with other leaders at
Prince of Peace to pray, dream and discern the shape of Prince of Peace in the future. The
success of this Capital Campaign will set us free to move into that future with confidence,
making needed resources more readily available.
And so, I’ll ask you to do again what I invited you to do as this Campaign began. Please pray.
Ask God to direct you as you consider your generosity. And then obey. Trust that where God
guides, God will provide. Over and over I’ve discovered how faithful God is when we pray
and obey.

2. What is the Purpose of the No Debt! Know Mission! Campaign?
As a community of faith, Prince of Peace was hindered by $4.45 million in debt. Each year
more than $200,000 of our general fund was used just to pay the interest on our debt. In
short, this is money that could and should be used for mission and ministry. With No Debt!
we will open up multiple ways to Know Mission! in a deeper way at Prince of Peace, and be
able to minister more effectively to our members, our community and the world. As we move
into this phase of the three year Campaign, we are seeking additional commitments to reach
our goal.
Ministry Support
The mission and ministries of Prince of Peace are dependent on the grace of God and the
financial support of God’s people. God has richly blessed us to be a blessing to others. During
this No Debt! Know Mission! ...Our Future! phase of the Campaign, it is important that
support is sustained in the regular offering to provide the resources for our entire current
ministry.
Prayer for Generosity
Abundant and loving God, I give you thanks that my life is blessed by this community of
faith in so many ways. I am encouraged, comforted, empowered and prayed for through
the joys and sorrows of my life. Create in me a heart that responds to my blessings with a
generous spirit. Use not only my heart and my hands to make a difference in the lives of
people less fortunate, but my financial giving as well. Remind me, gracious God, that all that
I have is yours. Inspire me to generously share in the incredible mission and ministry of Jesus
Christ through Prince of Peace as we seek to care for your children both near and far. In your
precious name I pray. Amen.
Our Future – God is calling us UP, IN and OUT
Up... with God
We love because God first loved us. Growing as a disciple means, first and foremost, growing
in our love for God. That happens through heartfelt worship and a vibrant devotional life.
This is where the journey begins, each and every day. We cannot set the world on fire for the
sake of God’s Kingdom if our passion for God does not burn brightly.
In... through Community
As people who are baptized into Christ we are one family, one body. We were never meant
to walk the journey of discipleship alone. We were made to take great joy in one another. We
are called to love and support one another. Part of our witness to the world is the way that we
love one another. The world really will know that we are Christians by our love!
Out... for the World
We ARE the Church, and we’ve been blessed to be a blessing to the world. Because God has
given us the Kingdom, we reveal the Kingdom of God’s love and mercy and grace for the
world. Empowered with God’s Spirit we serve together. Like a great symphony, the music of
God’s work in the world happens best when everyone plays their part. We are Jesus’ hands,
feet and heart in the world. God chooses to love, restore and reconcile through us together as
the body of Christ. In God’s economy the pathway to a full life is emptying yourself for the
sake of others. You’ll never be more like Jesus than when you’re wrapping the towel of service
around your waist.
