MARKETING WITH A
CONSCIOUS
“In the new era of social responsibility, what companies
don’t do can cost them – Consumers support brands
that share their desire to make the world a better place.
There’s a strong connection between entrepreneurship
and “paying it forward”. The challenge is being able to
make your efforts count for both the communities that
you operate in as well as your business. We help our
clients master this with our brand cause marketing
solutions. “ – Matshidiso Mbele, Managing Director,

The Sunday Times Generation Next Awards recognises leading brands with the cool factor. In addition
to the awards, a conference for young people is hosted and Kwambele was responsible for developing

ceremony representating our client loveLife.
Artwork created for the conference and awards ceremony illustrated youth’s path to greatness,
leadership and unearthed how they can power the future. All collateral developed was youthful,
engaging and encouraged dialogue and igniting the need to drive change for the future.

4. loveLife Youth Month Campaign
loveLife not only celebrated youth month during June 2015, but also wanted to utilise the month to
highlight the state of mind of young South Africans. Kwambele was responsible for developing a
creative campaign to communicate the messaging for loveLife. The campaign developed was not only
creatively appealing but also elicited an emotional connection with young people and gave them a
reason to believe, leading to behaviour change on how to make a difference not only in their lives but in
the future of South Africa.
Xenophobia Dialogues
It is said that dialogue has the power to end conflict. With the recent spate of xenophic attacks address
the issue of xenophia especially among youth. The concept centered around creating a safe space for
young people to verbally engage and not only highlight the challenges that lead to xenophia but to also
take the lead and provide solutions for the challenges. The dialogue was hosted as an event where
young people expressed themselves through music as this is something they are familiar with and
also created a stakeholder engagement opportunity as key stakeholders for the organisations
participating were invited to be part of the dialogues. Kwambele aslo identified and managed talent
that was part of the dialogue and for audience engagement young people were given the chance to
express themselves with clothing that represented unity in Africa. Kwambele was also responsible for
the creative collateral for the dialogue sessions.
That South Africa is
overwhelmed by foreigners
In 1998 the department of Home Affairs claimed
there were up to five million illegal immigrants in South Africa.
Statistics South Africa’s official estimate is now of 500,000
to one million undocumented migrants,
a far smaller figure than believed

YOUNG PEOPLE TALK XENOPHOBIA
In the story we see a guy from Somalia expressing the stress they go through, having
to lose family members and a lot of money during these attacks and another foreign
man explaining the reasons why they leave their countries. We also hear how deeply
hurt some community members are about these attacks and they express how they
struggle in the absence of these foreigners and their shops.
Talking points:
- The lack of understanding attackers have on the Psychological and Financial impact
these attacks have on the victims.- Disapproving these attacks due to the struggle fellow South Africans go through in
terms of getting affordable goods and the lack of South African owned shops in the
communities.
- The need to treat each other as human being, rather than categorizing based on
Nationality.
The discussion provoking question is:
