Tara – opening coments about microphones etc.
Rob - Thanks to everyone for a great season!
Not what we expected in terms of the ending, but so many amazing things did happen and we need to celebrate.
New head coach this year. So many personal bests. Lots of new skaters joined the club, some just for ITSS, but many continued. Great competition results! So, here we are to celebrate even though things didn't end as we had hoped.
Steph … can you do pin awards and awards after.... Name the category of the next one, and then I will switch the slide
The next award is a new award:
The Rising Star Skater of the Year is awarded to a skater in their first year who demonstrates strong work ethic and consistent improvement in their skating. This year, our rising star award goes to......
Now we are moving to some Long Track awards
Now we return to short track awards, starting with 500 m
Rob: Our next awards are for Short Track in the 500 m distance. We recognize skaters who break certain time thresholds in this distance. Skaters also bring baked goods to share when they break these times. We call it – You break it, you bake it. You may remember enjoying some cake this season. So at this time we recognize these skaters for their accomplishments. Skaters you will get your pins when we return to the arena. In some cases, there are trophies to be signed, and we will do that in the fall. Here are the Sub Club awards:
Steph can you do the names? Skaters love their coach to recognize them! First names are fine!
Rob: The following new awards this year are are given to the top skaters of the year in both compeititive streams (provincial and elite).
These awards are based on
-hard work
-results/new PBs
-sportsmanship
-There are Provincial and Elite awards for male and female skaters.
Steph?
Rob – Thanks on this page
Tara – Thanks
Rob - Thank you everyone. So many volunteers are needed for the skating season to be successful:
Thank you for:
Moving mats, getting buckets of water, being an on-ice volunteer, registering racers via email, helping with skate sharpening, helping fit skates at the open house, bringing treats, driving guest coaches, welcoming and supporting new skating families and all the other things you have done and are doing to support the club.
Tara
Tara - Board Meeting coming up August 18th on zoom
Registered as a not for profit in Ontario – December 2019
New Board positions -
Governance needs to be created – constitution, by-laws, terms for board members
Rob - This would need everyone in the club’s name on this slide, so we’d like to just send out enormous gratitude to every parent in this club for making the competition become reality and helping it be such an incredible success!
Thank you to everyone who set up the track on the ice, moved mats between rinks, set up mats, donated items for the auction or donated food, worked in the kitchen, voluteered with the auction or the draws, worked as an official or supported behind the scenes. Thank you for all the ways you made this event a success on and off the ice.
Tara -

Wish them the best for the fall. We know it was hard to miss graduation ceremonies with their teachers and peers. We are so proud, and want to acknowledge this important event in their lives.
Steph – This slide
? We miss you. We are so proud of you.
Then Tara – Raise your hand if you want a chance to talk. We can take turns un-muting.
