Tools must solve problems, create
efficiency, improve workflow, accelerate
growth and enhance capabilities to achieve
your goals.
#socialpro #24a @kmullett
Social Media is Free to Use, Not Free to Do.
Wind is free, building and maintaining windmills is not.
So, you should leverage tools that make you more
efficient and expand your capabilities, yes, even if you
need to pay for them.
#socialpro #24a @kmullett
Sometimes bosses won’t give us the tools we think we need to
get things done, but let’s face it, we probably don’t need a
Lamborghini to get to the airport. Either way, since I don’t know
what your budget is most of these tools, with a few exceptions,
will be free or reasonably inexpensive.
#socialpro #24a @kmullett
(8) Tools: Who are you and what do you need? Things I don’t know about you: Your

(24) Tools for discovering content and influencers
Content curation is an important part of building relationships, creating a channel that isn’t US focused, and more importantly delivering value to your audience. Be careful to avoid packratious
egotitious. The goal is to grab what you need, and that includes what you can give away to build audience, attention, and authority. Keep in mind some tools will give you full access to historical

(11) tools to help you organize and optimize your content opportunity.
Consider creating a content opportunity report (COR) before settling on an content (editorial) calendar, because it is important to discuss
opportunity, and the value of each one, before committing to the effort to create content for each one.
Stop talking about Editorial Calendars before accessing your monthly, quarterly, and yearly known opportunity.
Let’s do an EPIC Content Audit - do they have any viral or useful content that will draw sticky visits, social shares, and backlinks that isn't over the
top promotional? If the boss is there, he is hearing that this is important. If the in-house is there, he is glad to hear someone reinforcing the need.

Content marketing isn’t just blogging, we already have a name for that, it’s called blogging. Think bigger! The Lego Movie is an excellent example of
content marketing. The goal was for you to watch what could be called an entertaining 100 minute toy commercial. Content marketing is disguised
promotion that has perceived value. And often the end product is unique from the companies regular products or services.
A few of my favorite examples are: The LEGO Movie, Property Brothers, and Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. Maybe even Third Door Media? And of
course The John Deere Furrow (1897). Google? Most book authors? What are you giving away of value to get clients? The LEGO Movie is pretty
far from, just a blog post.
#socialpro #24a @kmullett
You just
watched our
100 minute toy
commercial.
This really isn’t as hard to figure out as many make it out to be. You need to , solve people’s problems, answer their questions, evoke emotion and entertain them.
Sure that takes effort, creativity, and some thought, but you don’t need fancy tools or a big budget to do that.
#socialpro #24a @kmullett

Being Useful To Your Audience Doesn’t Require A Big Budget Or Fancy Tools

  • 1. Being Useful To Your Audience Doesn’t Require A Big Budget Or Fancy Tools, presented by Kevin Mullett, director of visibility and social media for MarketSnare, at #SocialPro Las Vegas November 19th, 2015 Remember, being useful to your audience isn’t a trick or a trend and doesn’t require fancy tools or a big budget. Now enjoy over 170 tools to help with your social media marketing. • http://twitter.com/kmullett • http://kevinmullett.com • http://marketsnare.com #socialpro #24a @kmullett
  • 2. Tools must solve problems, create efficiency, improve workflow, accelerate growth and enhance capabilities to achieve your goals. #socialpro #24a @kmullett
  • 3. Social Media is Free to Use, Not Free to Do. Wind is free, building and maintaining windmills is not. So, you should leverage tools that make you more efficient and expand your capabilities, yes, even if you need to pay for them. #socialpro #24a @kmullett
  • 4. Sometimes bosses won’t give us the tools we think we need to get things done, but let’s face it, we probably don’t need a Lamborghini to get to the airport. Either way, since I don’t know what your budget is most of these tools, with a few exceptions, will be free or reasonably inexpensive. #socialpro #24a @kmullett
  • 5. (8) Tools: Who are you and what do you need? Things I don’t know about you: Your budget, your workflow, desired outcomes and goals, your, current struggles or directives, competence. • 7. (6) Tools: I know this is about social media, but please help your fellow marketers out by being consistent with N.A.P. info on IYPs! It wasn’t difficult for businesses to manage how they appeared when it only appeared where they could easily see it. Yext, Nuestar, Moz, Axiom, UBL, etc Citations #socialpro #24a @kmullett
