Personal Statement
2
3. Whilst running my own business, I have kept up to date with locum work in
several pharmacies over past few years. I am highly organised, and strive to
approach all tasks with the aim of maintaining the smooth and efficient
running of the business, to ensure high standards of customer service, and to
maximise profits and minimise problems. As a pharmacist/pharmacy
manager, my roles have been varied from dealing with simple health enquiries
from customers, to implementing medicine systems within nursing homes,
dealing with staff and rotas, buying stocks from various wholesalers, shop
design and implementing and reviewing systems.
I am used to anticipating possible problems and implementing plans and
solutions, as well as keeping up to date with company policies and national
law. Working as a pharmacist requires extensive knowledge of the law in
many areas, as well as the production and implementation of standard
operating procedures and health and safety.
Throughout my career, I have developed a wide range of transferable skills;
such as how to communicate effectively with patients and other
professionals/multinational companies/wholesalers etc, and the ability to work
carefully, methodically and accurately. I greatly enjoy managerial aspects of
work, and being the leader of a team.
I have excellent time management and organisational skills, am able to
critically evaluate data, and have good commercial awareness.
I enjoy work that allows me to exercise my problem-solving skills, and
presents me with new challenges; I possess the important ability to think
clearly and methodically under pressure.
