5 Signs it's Time to Clean Up Your Email List
Spring cleaning is upon us!
Let’s look at five signs it may be time to trim the fat off your email list.
Mistakes in
Spelling and
Punctuation
This is an easy fix. Make sure you have
the correct emails for all your contacts
and that they aren’t duplicate records.
Look at the domain and make sure
it’s spelled correctly.
Make sure you have your contact’s
name saved correctly and their
email is accurate.
You should do this regularly to
decrease bounce rates.
Low Open Rates
If your contacts haven’t opened your
emails in the last 6 months, it may be
time to remove them from your list.
Emails are meant to be engaging,
so if your open rates are
decreasing, do an audit of your
list.
Regularly deleting old contacts will
increase your email statistics
and grow a better list.
You can send an email to gauge
interest before deleting
someone.

Are Below Average
Research your industry to get average
open rates and try to achieve those.
Low open rates mean that your
emails aren’t getting traction.
Calculate open rate by dividing the
amount of emails opened by
the amount of emails sent.
