Growing up, the author helped their parents manage residential properties on weekends and summers. This introduced them to real estate. Later, the author pursued automotive technology but found their passion for real estate returned. As the housing market declined in 2007, the author and their wife helped hundreds of homeowners avoid foreclosure through short sales and loan modifications. They developed lasting friendships with clients and strive to provide more than a transactional relationship through the entire home buying and selling process.
1. Growing up as one of seven children, my introduction to Real Estate came at a very early age.
Both of my parents were teachers, and to make ends meet they managed numerous residential
properties. Many weekends and summers were spent landscaping, painting, and remodeling
these properties so they were always ready for the next tenant.
Later on I learned the business side of property management as well as buying and selling
properties for profit. By this time, I was in my later high school years and was becoming more
and more interested in the automotive field. I had always been intrigued by anything
mechanical, especially things that were loud and fast. I wanted to learn how to make cars go
faster and look better than they did when built. This led to me pursuing my Associates Degree
in Automotive Technology.
For the next fifteen years I worked as both an automotive technician and in the automotive
aftermarket industry where I met my beautiful wife Margo, but it wasn’t long before the Real
Estate itch returned. I firmly believe that we don’t choose our profession, but rather, it chooses
us. We fully engaged ourselves in the Real Estate business - first as investors and ultimately as
licensed Realtors. Initially our plans were to continue buying and selling properties, but when
the market took a turn for the worse in 2007, we found a new calling in real estate.
The economy had tanked, people were losing their homes at an alarming rate, and many
homeowners had nobody to turn to for help. The government programs hadn’t kicked in yet,
many of the agents they bought homes from didn’t know how to help them, and a lot of agents
just walked away from the industry altogether.
We knew this was the time when we needed to step in and help in any way possible. For the
next several years, we saved hundreds of homeowners from foreclosure by assisting themwith
either a short sale or loan modification. We knew the work we were doing was very helpful to
all our clients, but had no idea of the permanent friendships we were developing along the
way! We cherish these friendships to this day and can honestly say our Real Estate family is just
that…FAMILY!
As a result, we do our absolute best to make sure the time we spend with our clients is more
than just buying or selling a house. We protect and advise them through the entire process,
and we’re a trusted resource long after the transaction. We enjoy what we do very much and
are so excited that Real Estate chose us!
