Program: ABC Life Literacy Canada offers a free financial literacy program for adult learners called Money Matters - it's free, informal, participant-led, and covers four units: budgeting, basic banking, spending, and saving. TD volunteer-tutors from your area can facilitate the sessions, with support from a staff member from your organization. 8 weeks notice is required for volunteer recruitment. The whole process generally takes ten hours: a two-hour training session for new TD volunteer-tutors, and four two-hour workshops with learners that cover the program material. That said, the program is flexible. Some of the organizations run the workshops in two half-day workshops, offer workshops on only one unit or use their own staff.
