There are two main types of energy sources: renewable and non-renewable. Renewable energy sources, like sunlight, wind, and geothermal heat, naturally replenish themselves, while non-renewable sources like fossil fuels take millions of years to form and are being depleted. It is important that we conserve energy because non-renewable sources are finite and using less energy can help reduce environmental impacts and save money through changes like using public transportation, reducing home heating, choosing energy efficient products, and turning off lights when not in use.
3. Energy as we all know is the ability or the capacity
to do work. There are different types of energy.
Some are :-
Solar energy
Heat energy
Potential energy
Kinetic energy
Geothermal energy
ETC……………
4.
5. RENEWABLE
ENERGY
Renewable energy is
generally defined as energy
that is collected from
resources which are
naturally replenished on a
human timescale, such as
sunlight, wind, rain, tides,
waves, and geothermal
heat.
NON-RENEWABLE
ENERGY
A Non-Renewable resource is a
resource of economic
value that cannot be readily
replaced by natural means on
a level equal to its
consumption. Most fossil fuels,
such as oil, natural gas and
coal are considered
nonrenewable resources in
that their use is not
sustainable because their
formation takes billions of
years.
10. • Change your travel behavior, think more in terms of public
transportation, if possible, walk or ride your bicycle instead of
taking the car
• Reduce your house heat by 1C, keep the windows closed
while heating, dress warmly
• Choose products that come with lightweight packaging
• Turn off lights and appliances when you are not using them,
use energy-saving light bulbs
• Reuse plastic bags for shopping and storage
• Use a microwave instead of a stove to reheat food
• Use rechargeable batteries instead of disposable batteries
