Brain Computer interface
The definition of
brain computer interface
is a collaboration between a brain and a
device that enables signals from the brain
to direct some external activity, such as
control of a cursor .
• Example of brain computer interface :
Invasive Brain Computer Interfaces:
These devices are used to provide functionality to paralyzed people.
Non Invasive Brain Computer Interfaces:
This type is successful to give a patient the ability to move (its more safety).
Mind Control: Allows a user to control a robot's movement by looking at
specific regions on a computer screen.
Advantages of BCI:
• Allow paralyzed people to
control prosthetic limbs with
their mind
• Transmit visual images to the
mind of a blind person,
allowing them to see
• Allow gamers to control video
games with their minds
• Allow a mute person to have
their thoughts displayed and
spoken by a computer
Disadvantages of BCI:
• Research is still in beginning
stages
• Ethical issues may prevent its
development
• Electronic singles could effect
the brain.
