2. The universe with all its benevolence, mystery and power all enthralled us,
as we watch comets flung by, as we felt the tremendous energy of the sun, and as
we tried to count the innumerable stars but nothing still could defeat the awe of
studying the Human Mind. So little of a space that govern our whole existence as
a human being. I’m currently studying at the Polytechnic University of the
Philippines- Graduate school taking up the course Master in Psychology –I/O
Psychology and the human mind always fascinates me.
The Human Mind so close to touch yet so far to be understood, awoke our
curiosity as a human being, being a Filipino as we are, we all wondered what, why
, how and when do a Filipino elicit certain behavior that necessarily unique to us.
With these, we would explore the most recent Events that have been happening in
the Philippines.
EVENT # 1 ZAMBOANGA CRISIS
NurMisuari, the leader of the rebel group Moro National Liberation Front
(MNLF) signed a peace treaty in 1996 that allowed the creation of the Autonomous
Reguion in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) and Misuari became its first governor.
Recently, However, Misuari ―has been angered by a planned peace deal with the
MILF, believeing it would sideline the MNLF and 1996 peace deal. Misuary
proclaimed the independence of the BangsamoroRepublik on August 12, 2013 at
Talipao, Sulu , Although it was largely ignored by the government. Misuari
―disappeared from public view‖ before the fighting broke out in Zamboanga
September 8, 2013 the first cry of outbreak was heard as platoons of MNLF
who slipped unarmed the night before, Pronounce siege to the barangays in
Mindanao. They are demanding attention to the Philippine government saying that
the agreement for the independence of Mindanao was being left on the table to
spoil. They started raining chaos in the place taking with them the civilians as
hostage.
It was a horrendous phenomena, Filipino battling against Filipinos, definitely
a war where both side is losing. The president of the Philippines is on the vicinity
as was his role on being the Chief Commanding Officer for the Philippine army
and Philippine National Police. The standoff last for several days claiming the lives
of our own heroic soldiers and some of the civilians.
People camp out of their house into a safe area rendered as camp for the refugees,
hundreds of our brothers and sisters in Mindanao huddled together as the fighting
raged in the nearby villages. Help from all sides of the Philippines began to pour as
people became more aware of their situation.
3. Thus with the prelude of the crisis, the Filipino People could still feel the
grip of fear as it was a tip of an iceberg for a much bigger problems.
EVENT # 2Southern Visayas Pandemonium
MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude 5.5 aftershock struck Tagbilaran City, Bohol
on Thursday morning, one of the more than a thousand temblors since the province
was hit by a magnitude-7.2 earthquake on Tuesday.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the
earthquake was recorded at 7:37 a.m. and was tectonic in origin.
Intensity 6 was felt in Tagbilaran City while Intensity 4 was observed in
Dumaguete City, LapuLapu City, Sibulan and Negros Oriental.
Phivolcs describes Intensity 6 as "very strong."
In the event of an Intensity 6 temblor, it said people lose their balance; motorists
would feel like driving with flat tires and very old or poorly built structures are
slightly damaged.
Intensity 2 was also felt in Maasin, Southern Leyte and in Mambajao, Camiguin.
Phivolcs said more than a thousand aftershocks have been monitored following the
magnitude 7.2 earthquake that hit Bohol at 8:12 a.m. on Tuesday.
The major earthquake has so far killed 158 people and affected 3,406,227
individuals.
EVENT # 3 PDAF Embezzlement
Napoles and her partners in crime stole more than cash, she stole dreams..
Dreams of our filipino people to go to school, Filipinos who are in need of medical
services but couldn't avail them. she stole from every single filipino.
Millions of Pesos were embezzled from our countries funds that may have been
used in building schools, hospitals and couldhave also bolster our weakening
economy. Persons behind this crime have made use of the funds for their own
4. greedy wants.Inspite of it all the persons who are involved with these controversies
brought out a deaf ear regarding this matter.
I think Ms. Miriam Defensor was right when she said that "only the taxpayers
should have the right to vote" this is to avoidthe other schemes of the vile and
treacherous Political Candidates who made us of the Filipino impoverishment for
their ownsource of wealth. they are hiding under the plumage of a kind hearted and
Personable politician wherein after winning the electionwould no long be seen
actively providing help for the community but was so preoccupied making use of
the funds allocated forthe welfare of the filipinos for their greedy wants.
I believe that there should be a Governing Body which is not directly in report for
the Philippine government. A governing bodymanned by people who believe that
there still hope for the Philippines. they are to catch these insidious politician and
havethe right to file to court their finding about the politicians mischiefs and will
be properly adhered upon by the Judiciary. There should be a severe punishment
for those who will be caught malingering with the money should we say lives of
our fellow countrymen for their own narcissistic desires.
THE FILIPINO PSYCHOLOGY
Resiliency
The Philippines is a hotspot for disasters, natural and otherwise. Couple that with
poverty, and one would think that Filipinos have the most reason for being a
depressed people. However, we have demonstrated time and again that Filipinos
can bounce back from a tragedy, emerging stronger and better than before. In the
middle of a disaster, Filipinos can still manage to smile and be hopeful that the
next morning brings new hope.
We have shown the world that by working together as a nation, we have what it
takes to recover from a bad situation. This is something that all of us should be
proud of, no matter where in the world we are.
With all of these good traits (and more!), one would really be proud to say, ―I am a
Filipino.‖
5. Filipinos have shown the world that by working together, we have what it takes to
recover from a bad situation—and this is a trait that we should all be proud of.
HAPPINESS
Happiness is something that we Filipinos are supposed to be known for. We’re
supposed to be a people renowned for our amazing ability to see the bright side of
even the most trying situation. We find something to smile about when we are sad
and we laugh even when we are in pain.
These traits coupled with our innate love for our country, for our GOD and for our
family made a Filipino truly a Filipino.
