During six months abroad, was enrolled in an immersion program with only native
students, thus allowing for direct exposure to a variety of local issues and increased
proficiency in Spanish. Problem solving, critical thinking, an adventurous spirit, and an
open mind were all crucial elements of time abroad.
EXPERIENCE
2015-Present Service Coordinator
Arrupe Neighborhood Partnership at Saint Ignatius High School – Cleveland, OH
Through the Jesuit Volunteer Corps, directly responsible for designing and implementing
afterschool programs and summer camp curriculum that serviced neighborhood at-risk
youth, co-moderating the Saint Benedict Joseph Labre Ministry to those experiencing
homelessness in Cleveland, and supporting struggling individuals by connecting them to
community resources. Additional skills gained include volunteer coordination, budgeting and
office management, and an overall awareness of the local community and its relation to the
greater Cleveland area.
Summer 2015 Teaching Intern
Phillips Exeter Academy – Exeter, New Hampshire
Co-taught two sections of Leadership & Society under the Hamm Leadership
Department for the duration of the summer school session employing the Harkness
Method that is unique to Exeter. Skills sharpened included fostering the celebration of
diversity in an educational setting through the facilitation of programming and conversation.
Summer 2014 Teaching Intern
High Rocks Educational Corporation – Hillsboro, West Virginia
Designed and implemented courses that investigated the topic of education reform at this
girls' empowerment camp. Worked especially to create an environment that was supportive,
engaging, and relatable for the girls who came to the camp from the surrounding rural areas.

2. Summer 2013 Intern
Waterstreet Glassworks – Benton Harbor, Michigan
Mentored and oversaw the at-risk teens enrolled at this glassblowing art studio. Was
responsible for maintaining office operations and organizing the nonprofit’s communication
with community members in order to foster interest and participation in adult art classes.
Spring 2013 Digital Media Intern
Riverside Artists Gallery – Marietta, Ohio
Launched several social media campaigns to update the gallery's image and to
increase its presence within the community. Outreach initiatives included creating and
distributing a bi-monthly digital newsletter, organizing gallery events, and remodeling the
gallery space to better entice and accommodate community members.
Summer 2012 Camp Counselor
Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp – Twin Lake, Michigan
Acted as leader and role model for campers as they developed their fine arts talents. Also
served as Art Department Assistant and helped coordinate the final art show. Skills gained
include ability to manage multiple projects and embrace problem solving.
