2. What resources do you need
for your documentary?
• To be able to film my documentary I will need
different resources to make sure my footage is the
best possible quality. For my documentary I need a
camera, tripod, ring light and microphone.
3. Equipment explained
– camera
• To film my documentary I will be
using my iPhone 11 the camera
can film in 1080p which is high
definition and is the standard for
most cameras now. The camera
can zoom up to 5x and 2x optical
zoom out. I can also adjust the fps
while filming. I use 60 fps just in
case when in post production if I
want to slowdown any of my clips
they will appear smoother.
4. Equipment explained- tripod
and ring light
• I will be using a tripod to
keep the camera stable and
level. The tripod that I am
using has a ring light attached
this will brighten up the set
and make it more appealing
to the audience.
5. Equipment explained –
microphone
• I used my air pods built in microphones while filming I
connected my air pods to my iPhone 11 via Bluetooth.
Air pods have beamforming microphones.
6. buses
I used the go north east app to strategically plan my locations around
park lane bus station I favourited bus stops that has the most activity
and would use this to check what time the bus would be due this
helped me to obtain the best possible shots. I also used the weather
app to make sure that it would be good conditions with no rain as
that would effect the shoot.
7. Metros
• I used the pop app which allowed me to
have real time updates on where the
metros where and what time they would
be due and on what platform this helped
as I was able to waste less time waiting
to get shots of metros. The app also has
a map feature which showed me were
other near by station were.
9. Did you face any issues while filming ?
• One issue that I faced was not being able to find a suitable filming
location that had access to a near by power outlet so that I could plug
in my ring light. It wasn’t essential that I use my ring light however it
would improve the lighting and would therefore make it more
appealing to the audience. To solve this issue I used a portable power
bank which allowed me to move the ring light around.
