2. THE MOUSE FINDS FRIENDS
Mummy Mouse says to her son.
“You are big. You can go for a walk with your friends.”
“But I haven’t got friends”, says her son.
“You can find them ”.
The Mouse goes out to look for friends.
3. He walks on and sees beavers. They are building a dam from trees.
The Mouse says, “Hello! I’m looking for friends.”
The beavers say, “We want to be your friends”.
4. “You have too big teeth. I don’t want to be friends with you”.
5. The Mouse walks on and on. He sees a lot of holes and a mole in one
of them. The Mouse says, “Hello! I’m looking for friends.” The mole
says, “I want to be your friend!” “How can you be my friend? You
cannot see well. You wear glasses. How can we play together? ”
6. The Mouse walks on and on. He meets a bird. The bird is
looking at its reflection in the river.
The Mouse says, “Hello! I’m looking for friends.”
The bird says, “I want to be your friend!”
7. “I don’t like your bright feathers. I don’t like
such clothes. Our tastes differ”.
8. The Mouse walks on and on. He meets a snake. The snake wears grey
сlothes, has small teeth and beautifull eyes.
The Mouse says, “Hello! I’m looking for friends.”
The snake says, “I want to be your friend! I know a lot of tales.”
9. The snake begins to tell a tale and the Mouse fall asleep.
The snake wants to eat the Mouse.
The bird sees this and twitters loudly.
10. The Mouse wakes up and runs away.
The bird flies and tells the mole and beavers that the snake wants to
eat the Mouse. The mole digs a hole.
11. The snake gets into the hole. The beavers put trees on the snake’s tail.
“I want to be friends with you, beavers!”
“I want to be friends with you, the Mole!”
“I want to be friends with you, the Bird!”
A friend in need is a friend indeed.
