1. Harold "Hype" Williams (born 1970),also
know as Hype Williams was born in
Queens, New York 1975. and is of African
and Honduran decent.
Hype Williams is well known for his high-
budget, visually distinctive music videos for
popular artists ranging from Nicki Minaj
to Kanye West.
He is currently represented by DNA - David
Naylor and Associates, Hollywood, CA.

2. Director X’s music videos are very
contemporary, his music videos are ones
that are likely to appear on music channels
such as MTV base. This has contributed to
his fame and success as a director as his
music videos are very well known such as
the music video on the right by Big Sean
and Kanye West this song was number 1 in
the charts for 3 consecutive weeks.
His videos are quiet easy to recognize as
the they tend to be high budget and are
edited to the “T” in his videos he
consistently uses on beat editing and quick
sharp cuts to match the pace of the music .

3.  Hype Williams brings the same energetic buzz to all
of his music videos, he does so with a variety of
commercial Rap, hip-hop and R&B artist such as
Drake, R-Kelly, Kanye west, Rihanna and Cassie.
 Hype makes the star perform in his videos to add a
bubbly vibe and energy to their videos he makes
females wear very voyeuristic but compostable
clothing so they can dance and perform e.g. Rihanna
is wearing a bra and tracksuit bottoms
 This makes the artist appear stylish as well as
comfortable

4.  As you are beginning to notice Hype Williams
typically creates a natural lighting effect in his
videos he does this to make his videos appear
realistic and authentic he also tends to shoot videos
on beaches and urban setting in the summer to
express his Honduran decent. Using a natural and
warm color scheme subliminally changes the mood
of his audience making them feel better which is
one of the contributing factors to his large fan base.

5.  I like Hype William’s videos because they are always upbeat
and can change the audiences mood, if not calm and relaxing
his music videos are energetic and leave the audience in
amazement he is not afraid to spend big to get big results and
what is most effective is he has his editing done so well that is
consistently matches the beat/ rhythm of the music.
 I also like how he can make Artist who cannot dance appear as
if they can just by skillful editing and great directing, he brings
out the talent of any music artist be them very well know or
fresh on the scene he is a great director and there are element
of his style I would like to use in my music video .
