Love test pools!
Allows you to use questions from all over to build new tests.
4. Getting the most out of blackboard
Create question sets
- allows you to select multiple question options to be chosen from
- everyone’s test is different

Options for more rigorous testing
1. Checkboxes on Blackboard:
• timed
• no navigating back on questions
• mix answers
• mix questions
6. Options for more rigorous testing:
2.Respondus Lockdown Browser
• locks down their browser so they can not open new tabs
• students must download this browser first
• most school computers have the browser already
• option for a video proctor of the exam (records them taking the test and gives
you options to see screenshots and view entire video if necessary - they must
have a camera)
Give them a quick quiz in the first week to make sure they have the Respondus
Browser set up. It takes them a little to figure it out.

8. Info on first quiz to get Respondus set up. Also goes out in an email:
“When you click the test it should pop up to a link for the Respondus Browser. If
not here is a link to the Respondus browser to download to be able to take all
quizzes and tests: LINK
Once you’ve downloaded Respondus, try closing down your internet browser,
quitting, and reopening. Sometimes a restart of the computer is necessary.
No password is needed to take the test.
If you’re still having technical issues you can call the help desk at 866-374-7169.
Thank you,”

Collaborate Ultra Uses
• Online Office Hours
• Online 1v1 help
• Record tutorials
• Live lectures
11. Video Chats (Skype, Google Hangout)
Skype
• Can be used as downloaded app on phone, computer or iPad or through internet
browser on computer.
• Create a username and login to begin
• Always request other users Skype username and their cell phone to trouble shoot.
• Have to request other user as a friend before calling
Drawbacks
- can’t do multiple people at once
- not very reliable
- no share screen
12. Video Chats (Skype, Google Hangout)
Other video options:
Google Hangout
- can share screens (big plus!)
- can have multiple people on video at once (25)
- don’t need a gmail account (but works best)
Can invite people by email or by sending a link.
Would be great for a guest speaker online!
13. Video Chats (Skype, Google Hangout)
Can also use Facebook Messenger and Zoom to video chat and check out
SnapChat!
Last two years two alpiners have snap chatted their way to the top of Everest.
AWESOME to follow along with students and get the nitty gritty of life (of lack thereof)
above treeline.
Snapchat added
new group chat!

1. Use a microphone
• volume quality
• increases AI closed captioning
• may need an adapter (check!)
2. Cut all outside noise
• this means even a big room has too much background noise
• make the room smaller by putting up a 3 side poster board
behind you
3. Orient your phone the landscape direction
4. Change the settings on your phone video!
5. ALWAYS wipe the lens right before!
