Personal Profile
I am a self-motivated, hardworking and driven person who isn’t afraid of a challenge and am
always looking to expand my skills. For the past seven years I have been an Academy Trainer
with a large Supermarket chain. I have a proven track record in Training, Coaching and
Customer Service.
Employment History
1983-1984
After leaving school I worked at Parker and Franks Department Store as a sales assistant
1984-1994
I started work as a sales assistant at Busy Bee Frozen Foods, a family owned store that
opened up in Morecambe. Within a year of being employed I was promoted to Manager at
the age of 18. My responsibilities included scheduling staff, ordering, cash handling
including banking and ensuring compliance and legalities were in place. After proving myself
in this position I was asked to take on an area role which included visiting stores in the
North West to ensure they were compliant and employees were trained to a high standard.
1994-Present
At this point I had the opportunity to work for a large retailer as W M Morrisons opened and
I took a part time position as a Checkout Operator. Within seven months I was promoted to
Checkout Supervisor on a part time contract, as I had two small children this suited the
commitment I was able to offer and also gave me the opportunity to gain skills and
experience needed to further enhance my career.
2. In 2000 I gained the position of Checkout Manager where my passion for training was
realised and I was chosen as Regional Checkout Trainer, a position I was able to fulfil as well
as staying in store running my department. My responsibilities consisted of:
Scheduling over 100 colleagues
Training and coaching in store and also at new store openings across the country
Cash handling
Appraisals for colleague and Supervisors
Legalities within the department
The Regional Trainer role became something I was asked to do on a regular basis and in
2008 I was promoted to the position of Checkout Company Trainer. This role was field based
and involved traveling the country, training Management and planning/ delivery to
colleagues in new stores. For the past seven years most of my time has been spent staying
away from home occasionally with other colleagues but a lot of the time on my own.
