There are several aims of this course and hopefully we will
achieve all of them.
Making you feel more confident when using English.
Developing your knowledgeof waste management.
Giving you lesson plans and materialto successful
deliver English lessons on waste management.
Giving you 7 (1.5 hour) lessons which you feel
comfortable teaching.
Addressing vocabulary and grammaticalareas to
make you feel more confident when explaining the
material
Your time is precious so this course will be effective and
useful
3. Course Overview
The course has been divided into 7 lessons of 20 hours.
Each lesson we willlook at a specific part of “waste
management”. Belowis a list of the topic we willbe
looking at in each lesson
1. Disposal of waste – landfill
2. Recycle
3. Re-use
4. Reduction and Prevention
5. Environmental Compost
6. Incineration – Energy Recovery Facilities
7. Earth Day (22nd of April)
Lesson structure
The lesson willbe divided in this way
0-90 minutes – actual lesson given to the class
90-100 minutes – pause
100 -180 minutes –
Analysis of lesson, material focus, delivery of
material, potential problems.
Vocabulary and grammaticalfocus.

Teacher/ Student Agreement
As your teacher I promise to do everything in my power to
help you to learn. However you must also work hard to
achieve this goal. You willbe expected to work hard in
class and do homework; this is not optional it is
mandatory.
