Mentorship Guide
Guidelines
•   Every VP will be given 9-10 new recruits.
•   These new recruits will be selected at random.
•   Mentorship group meetings will take place over a span of 5 days.
•   The mentorship groups will be GCM based, and will be used as a Talent
    Allocation Tool.
•   There will 4 meetings in all (1 virtual meeting + 3 actual meetings).
•   The VPs have to follow the checklist and guidelines for each mentorship
    meeting.
•   The VPs have to fill out the GCM-based Talent Allocation Tool at the end
    of each meeting.
•   Personal Goal Setting (PGS) will be combined with Mentorship Groups.
•   At the end of the 3rd, 4th and 5th mentorship meeting, the VP will conduct
    the PGS of 3 new recruits. The PGS document has been attached.
Meeting 1
 Pro-active Learning +
Entrepreneurial Outlook
    4th/ 5th SEPTEMBER
• Duration  1 hour 30 mins.
• Purpose 
- Explanation of Non-X in brief.
- To grade the new recruits for the comptencies
  of SOCISL RESPONSIBILITY, PRO-ACTIVE
  LEARNING and ENTREPRENEURIAL OUTLOOK.
- To find people for ER C, GCDP ICX & GIP ICX
Agenda
•   Check-in (5 mins)
•   Importance of Non-X  support systems (5 mins)
•   Explanation of ER in brief (5 mins)
•   Explanation of TM /HRin brief (5 mins)
•   Explanation of C in brief (5 mins)
•   Explanation of F and Trainee Servicing in brief (5 mins)

•   Activity  (40 mins)
-   Break up the group up into 5 pairs.
-   Each pair will pick up a chit and act the situation out. Each pair gets 5 mins.
-    Situations are 
o   Sell a painting workshop for street children (BKK) to a company for funding.
o   Sell an AIESEC internship to a corporate company.
o   Sell a Global Village to a company for funding.
o   Sell a Global Village to a TV channel, for TV coverage.
o   Sell a painting workshop for street children (BKK) to a newspaper, for press coverage.
-   The pairs can assume the company/T.V. channel/ newspaper to be anything. However, they have to
    specify the field of the firm. Eg: Selling BKK to a youth magazine’; or selling GV to a tourism firm.
-   The VP will have to play the part of the company/firm.


•   Hype up LTS and RYLC.(5 mins)
Post-meeting work for VPs
• On the google spreadsheet, make a note of the
  situation handled by the new recruit.
• Grade each new recruit on 5 for Entrepreneurial
  Outlook (how they dealt with the situation – quick
  thinking and selling skills).
• Grade each new recruit on 5 for Pro-active Learning
  (how well they picked up all the information that was
  given to them throughout mentorship groups and
  how they used it in their roleplays).
• Update on the Google spreadsheet name, phone
  numbers, email ids, parents email id, parents
  occupation
Meeting 2
Virtual Platform

5th/ 6th September,
• Virtual Meeting.
• Must be conducted over Skype.
• Time: 9 pm – 10: 30 pm.
• Duration: 1 hour 30 mins.
• Purpose:
- To have introductions.
- To get the new recruits signed up on
  myaiesec.net
- To add them to the Google group
- To promote virtual platforms.
Agenda
• Welcome (5 mins)
• Check-in (5 mins)
• Adding them to the AIESEC Google group (5 mins)
• Hyping up RYLC (5 mins)
• Telling them about myaiesec.net and its purpose and importance (10
  mins)
• Mailing them the sign-up ppt. The ppt has been attached (5 mins)
• Live signing up on myaiesec.net (15 mins)

• Reminder  Meeting no. 3 6TH /7TH September.
• Homework  Come up with names for the mentorship group before
  meeting no. 3!

Meeting 3
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY +Global Mindset
       + Emotional Intelligence

           6th/ 7thSeptember
• Duration  2 hrs
• Purpose 
- Explanation of OGX
- To grade the new recruits on the
  competencies SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY,
  GLOBAL MINDSET and EMOTIONAL
  INTELLIGENCE.
- To find people for OGX, Trainee Servicing and
  TM.
Agenda
•   Check in (5 mins)
•   Explanation of OGX in brief GCDP+ GIP - TT/MT/DT/ET (10 mins).
•   OGX processes in brief  Raise, Match, Realization, Re-integration(15 mins).
•   What is an EP? What is a trainee?
•   What is X+L? Importance of X+L (5 mins)
•   Ask new recruits if they want to go on an exchange and when (5 mins)

•   Activity  (25 mins)
-   Break the group up into 5 pairs.
-   Each pair will pick up a chit, and act the situation out. Each pair gets a maximum of 5 mins.
-   Try getting trainees to come for this activity.
-   Situations are:
o   Trainee buddy and frantic trainee situation.
o   Getting college permission for Recruitment situation.
o   EP manager and frantic EP on X situation.
o   EP manager and EP (about to leave for X) situation.
o   OGX form sales situation.
-   The VP will have to play the part of the frantic trainee/EP/college/student.
•   Reminder  Meeting no. 5 on 8TH September, 2012(5 mins).
• Activity 2(20 minutes) keep them in their
  groups, and ask them to conceptualise a
  learning event for environmental problems.
• Also come up with posters for the same.
Post-meeting work for VPs
• On the google spreadsheet, make a note of the
  situation handled by the new recruit.
• Grade each new recruit on GlobalMindset (how they
  dealt with internationals and international situations
  during their roleplay).
• Grade each new recruit on 5 for Emotional
  Intelligence (how sensitively and efficiently they
  managed personal problems of Eps and
  Trainees/queries of students during their roleplay).
• Grade each new recruit on 5 for Social( based on
  how well their learning event concept is )
• Grade each new recruit on 5 for creativity ( based
  on poster design idea)

  • 2.
