Let’s start by reviewing the agenda I’ve put together to make sure we are all on the same page.First – I’d like to start off by re-confirming my understanding of your needs, as well as give you the opportunity to further explain or clarify the project you hope to undertake. Second – I’ll talk to you briefly about LogiXML as a company, and why our approach is different (and we think better) than legacy approaches to business intelligence projects. After that we will jump into the product demonstration of our software. The demonstration will start by illustrating the end-user capabilities that you get with Logi Info, then show you the development environment that you would use to create business intelligence applications. Finally, we’ll wrap-up the call with next steps and any additional questions you might have.
So let’s get started by telling you a little bit about LogiXML.LogiXml was started in 2000 – founded on the belief that companies of all shapes and sizes would soon demand the same business visibility that their fortune 500 counterparts had, but in a simpler and easier to use package and without the multi-million dollar investments and multi-year timelines that were historically the norm. Leveraging new web technologies in early 2000, LogiXML was the first BI company to architect our entire solution around the web-browser, and the first company to introduce both technology and a licensing model that allowed our customers to deliver high value information to hundreds and thousands of end-users, quickly and effectively, all while maintaining an industry leading low TCO.
There are two primary products that make up the LogiSuitee – Logi Info, which is a platform for constructing powerful data-centric applications and Logi Ad-hoc – a self-service Business Intelligence Application, Our suite of products can work independently allowing you to meet your immediate needs, but are constructed on the same platform so they work well together.
Most customers select LogiXML for one or more of these reasons. Exceptional ease of use for the BI application creator, the ability to integrate with many sets of data – both traditional & non-traditional, capabilities on multiple platforms such as .NET & Java, and the high degree of embeddibility within existing applications.
The ease of use is based on a unique development approach called Elemental Design – this is a code-free environment that contains hundreds of pre-built modules we call super elements. These elements range from visual displays such as heatmaps, gauges and charts, to interactive data viewers. These elements can be quickly combined into thousands of combinations.
Another unique feature of LogiXML is its ability to connect to multiple data sources, in real time – this can be traditional databases, excel files, or even non-traditional data sources like web-services.In contrast to traditional BI approaches that require a complex data model to exist before accessing the data, Logi “AnySource” allows you to connect directly to the data in real-time.
LogiXML is also cross-platform, providing a single development environment for both Java & .NET environments. From a presentation standpoint, users access information through a standard web-browser with no-plugins required. Displays are also optimized for a multitude of mobile devices as well.
Finally – embeddibility is often a key decision criteria for customers. The unique LogiXML modular architecture makes it the ideal choice for embedding as part of existing applications or portals. Many of our customers find they can speed end-user adoption by providing a seamless experience to end-users as they can access enhanced reports, dashboards, and analysis components directly within the applications they already use.
So what do our most common use-cases look like?
Let’s see how Logi Info works. We start out with a Web Server, which you probably already have running. <click>The Logi Info engine is installed into your Web Server. Info will run on any Web Server that support .NET 2 or Java 6, which includes Microsoft IIS, Apache Tomcat, JBoss and more. <click>Logi Info can connect to virtually any data source such as your relational database, flat files, Web services, and more <click>Now using Logi Studio you build your BI application <click>Studio generates “Report Definition” files that are published to the Web server. These files are standards based XML and instruct the Logi engine how to generate the reports. <click>Users will simply point their browsers to the Web server to access the your BI application. Your user can also have the ability to export reports into comment file formats, such as PDF and Excel, for offline viewing.
