The Japanese scientists and engineers who came up with the (£400) X,
settled on the hard to ignore Wasabi after trying hundreds of odours,
including rotten eggs, before settling on the Japanese condiment – a
favourite of sushi lovers. Its active ingredient, allyl isothiocyanate, acts as an
irritant in the nose.
For their tests, Imai and colleagues filled canisters of the compound and
then filled the room with wasabi gas. Of the 14 test subjects—including four
who were deaf—13 responded as desired within 2 minutes.
17. 4. Identify the movie and the effect
In an interview, director Ron Howard explains how he shot the effects for the
movie X, “If we tried to create the effect with wires, I sort of shudder to think what
the movie would’ve really looked like.”
Howard and his actors initially planned to experience it just once for research, but
after experiencing, the director began to wonder if X could be partially filmed with
the effect by building a set inside the KC-135.
After getting permissions, the biggest hurdle was the fact that the effect could
only be achieved for. 25 seconds at a time So the filmmakers had to break down
each scene into small chunks and then keep everything organised. By the time
shooting wrapped, the cast and crew had up nearly four hours of this effect —
which is more than what the people they were portraying experienced in training.
20. 5. Identify the mascot X and product Y
Bibendum, commonly referred to in English as X is the official
mascot of the _________ Y company. Introduced in
1894, Bibendum is one of the world's oldest trademarks.
Interestingly, Bibendum is made of Y but of a different colour
than usual. The reason for this colour oddity is that prior to 1912,
Y were either grey-white or had a light translucent beige hue.
Carbon was subsequently added to the formula as a
preservative and to strengthen and which resulted in its current
colour.
23. 6. What is X?
In Japan, convenience stores across the nation carry large X. The idea is to lob
one after a robber to improve the chance of an arrest. But can the average
convenience-store clerk hit a moving target? The advice is to aim for the ground
near the perp’s feet because the balls shatter on impact and release their contents
in a radius as wide as 10 meters.
They are primarily used as a deterrent, developed almost 30 years ago as an Y
replacement. At that time, the nation’s highways had a problem with toll evaders,
and toll-booth attendants had taken to throwing raw Y at vehicles that charged
through without paying their fees.
Someone came up with X as an alternative to using Y, an improvement since Y
can be washed off, but the X is more permanent.
26. 7. Name the artist and monument
The X Y Tower is a memorial to an artist from his widow, located
on Viðey Island near Reykjavík, Iceland. It consists of a tall tower
of light, projected from a white stone monument that has the
words “X Y” carved into it in 24 languages. These words, and the
name of the tower, are a reference to his campaign for Y, and
his song “X”.
The widow plans to have the tower lit every year from 9
October, his birthday, through 8 December, the date he was
murdered.
29. 8. What is X or what does it point to?
Such pointers are common throughout the
world, from hotels in West Africa all the way to
Singapore. Usually, the stickers are typically
green or black, a colour associated with _____.

X. To name a few differences, Graham has a fat flat face, a
ribcage till the skull and knees that bend in all directions.

39. Q2. What are the
stitchings inspired by?
When pro-wrestler Kane made his
return to the WWE in 2011, his attire
featured what everyone thought was a
bizzare pattern of stitchings. However,
someone on Reddit pointed out that
the stitchings resemble something in
the field of medicine, which is
somewhat appropriate since Kane is a
character straight from a horror movie
40. Q3. ID X
The word X has been around a lot longer than you might think. It
first appeared as an adjective in the late 15th century, originally
coming from the Latin Janua ‘Genoa’, as in Genoa, Italy, where the
cloth was first produced. The noun sense comes from X fustian,
which literally means ‘fustian from Genoa’, a phrase used in the 16th
century to refer to a heavy twilled cotton cloth.
41. Q4. ID X
The apparel was created in India in the 1940s as Band Gale Ka Coat (English:
"Closed Neck Coat") and has been popular on the Indian subcontinent ever
since.
he jacket began to be marketed as “X”, after Y’s look, in Europe and America in
the mid 1960s. It was briefly popular there in the late 1960s and early 1970s, its
popularity spurred by growing awareness of foreign cultures, by the minimalism
of the Mod lifestyle and, in particular, by the Beatles and subsequently the
Monkees.
Although it used Y’s name, Y in fact, never wore an X. Y was mostly seen wearing
an achkan, which is longer than an X. A typical X never goes below the knees
42. Q5. What does this theory explain?
The most reasonable theory explaining this, has to do with the fact
that, when clothing conventions were becoming standardized, many
women did not dress themselves. Wealthy women, in particular.
Servants were often required to help rich ladies get into and out of
their elaborate dresses—and servants, like everyone else, were most
commonly right-handed.
Fashions working the way it does—trickled down from the wealthy to
the commoners, and these conventions were not changed.
43. Q6. Who is X? What fashion choice?
It seems that X took a trip to Japan in the 1980s and was rather moved to see everyone at Sony
wearing a uniform. He was keen to adopt the same sartorial consistency at _____. He thought
wearing the same corporate garb would help _____ employees come together--something
school uniforms never seem to quite manage. X discovered that the Sony garb was designed by
the fine Japanese fashion icon Issey Miyake. So he asked Miyake to create, dare one even
imagine it, an _____ vest. Employees expressed aggressively negative reservations about such a
1984-ish suggestion. "Oh, man, did I get booed off the stand Miyake, though, stayed in touch.
X’s enthusiasm for a personal uniform remained undimmed, so he asked Miyake to make him a
piece of clothing, which we have come to associate with him. He received "hundreds of them."
X then offered a quote that now seems painfully poignant: "I have enough to last for the rest of
my life."
44. Q7. X? and FITB

66. 1. Identify X
Throughout WWII, this variety of cooking products we have today didn’t
yet exist, so housewives often saved X for cooking. It was also valued for
the war effort—homemakers were asked to give their X to the local
butcher, who turned it into the government because it was needed for the
production of glycerin used to make bombs.
Even the Disney company was enlisted to encourage American housewives
to give their precious X to the government. “A skillet of X is a mini-
munitions factory,” stated a narrator as Minnie Mouse gave Pluto X in the
1942 short cartoon created to encourage people to participate in the war
effort.

72. 3. Why were these boxes painted gold?
In 2012, various post boxes in and around the United Kingdom,
were repainted gold. It marked the first occasion in modern times
that the colour of post boxes in the United Kingdom had been
changed from their traditional red. Originally intended to be a
temporary measure, due to the positive public response it was
later decided the colour change would become a permanent
tribute.
In some cases, the locations chosen by Royal Mail for gold boxes
were disputed by certain people as not being appropriate, usually
because the these people were more closely associated with
another location, and usually resulted in their choice of box being
awarded this colour.
75. 4. For what object was this gun made?
Tim Derk helped invent X cannon when he worked as the Coyote mascot for the
San Antonio Spurs in the 1990s. “It was like carrying a TV set on your back. The
gun was probably at least four feet long. It used a cast-iron pipe.“
“The Phoenix Gorilla and I were two of the pioneers,” Derk says. The gun evolved
during what might be called the “slingshot era,” a time when mascots used
enormous rubber bands to fling X . But the slingshots had limited range, and Derk
and his fellow mascots wanted to send swag to the top of the stadium. For
inspiration, the mascots looked to the spud launcher, a cannon designed to shoot
potato-size objects. They realized it could also launch a balled-up X.
These are now commonplace in events such as F1 races to EDM concerts
78. 5. What essential is X?
Turkish police raided the workshop in Izmir – a port city that is often a
departure point for migrants hoping to make it to Europe – and found
workers stuffing the X with packaging materials. Syrians tend to congregate
in Izmir while they seek passage on a smuggling boat. It is up to migrants
to find a X for the treacherous journey. A properly made X costs up to $150,
according to the BBC. A shoddy X may cost as little as $15, but has almost
no hope of helping. Regardless, many desperate migrants will still buy
them.
These under-the-counter X are also often black so as to avoid being
spotted.
81. 6. What game series is X?
X started development in 1991 with only four people. Originally, Boon and
Tobias were approached to create a video game adaptation of the 1992 film
Universal Soldier starring martial arts film actor Jean-Claude Van Damme,
with a digitized version of the action star fighting villains. Intending to make
a game "a lot more hard edge, a little bit more serious, a little bit more like
Enter the Dragon or Bloodsport" than Street Fighter II's cartoon fantasy
style, Boon and Tobias decided to continue their project even after the deal
to use the Bloodsport license fell through. One of their own characters,
became "a spoof on the whole Van Damme situation"
84. 7. Identify X
During World war 2, US Military enlisted a division of

87. 8. What practice is this?
There are varying accounts as to the origin of this response. One belief is
that it originated in Rome when the bubonic plague was raging through
Europe. One of the symptoms of the plague was coughing and sneezing,
and it is believed that Pope Gregory suggested saying X after a person
‘underwent something’ in hopes that this prayer would protect them from
an otherwise ‘certain death’.
Another explanation is it was used as a shield against the body's invasion
by the Devil or evil spirits.
90. 9. What origin story was animated thusly?
The tale of how the _ came to be is key to the plot of the last installment – but the
trouble was, how do you show a story-within-a-story?
The producers suggested creating something in the vein of Lotte Reiniger, who
was an animator who worked in the early 1900’s making mostly short films based
on fairy tales and classic stories. Her animations were distinguished by their use of
hand-cut paper silhouettes and lyrical, elastic movements.
The final touch was laying a grainy paper texture coloured with sepia tones over
and behind the animated figures. ‘When we designed the characters, we tried to
purposely design puppets. We should feel as if we’re watching a very clever
puppet show and not a traditional animated movie,’

112. 1. What product is X?
The life of a restaurant X is a short one. Restaurants typically throw X out after
only one use – and because they are not environmentally friendly, they turn into a
something that never biodegrades and clogs up landfills. More than a half-million
pounds of them are discarded every year.
The X Initiative collects donated X from restaurants, schools and homes across the
country, then melts them, remanufactures them and thus reduces waste.
Since 2011, Bryan and the Ware family have proudly dedicated themselves to
sorting countless X in their own backyard, recycling them for future creative use
and are distributed to programs at children’s hospitals across the U.S.
115. 2. What is X?
X pickups occur during breaks in popular X and are a surge in demand
caused by the flushing of toilets (leading to a surge at the pumping
stations) and the opening of fridge doors by millions of people. There is a
common misconception that the number one driver of X pickup is the
boiling of kettles.
The phenomenon is common in the UK, where individual X can often
attract a significantly large audience share. The introduction of a wider
range of X is mitigating the effect, but it remains a large concern for the
National Grid operators.
118. 3. What does Maniatty do?
If you've been to a big concert recently, you may have witnessed the mesmerizing skills of X. Their
skills are as enthralling as the performers on stage, and the latest viral video of one X at an Eminem
concert in particular is proof.
The original video, shows famed X Holly Maniatty to the side of the stage, ‘performing’ along to
"Rap God" with Eminem as he performs at the Firefly Music Festival. Maniatty has become a star in
her own right after numerous appearances alongside rappers like Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z, Wu Tang
Clan, Beastie Boys, and more over the years .
She's also the same ‘performer” that garnered internet attention after a video with Waka Flocka
showed the rapper confusing her ‘performance’ for dancing.
According to an interview with CBC, Maniatty says for hip hop shows in particular, there is a lot of
research and preparation that goes into her performance. "Go see when that song was written and
see what they’re talking about. And then think about something that's more iconic about it and kind
of build your performance that way to make it as authentic and close to the meaning of the person
who wrote it," she continued.
121. 4.What were the nests lined with?
In 2012, researchers examined the behaviour of house finches and house sparrows – both species
that are common in densely populated urban environments where X are easy to come by – and
found evidence that the birds use these nasty nest ingredients as pest repellant!
The birds weren't sticking whole X into their nests. Instead, they would pull out fibres the same way
they might grab a single twig or feather. As it turned out, the nests with the most fibres also tended
to have the fewest parasites like ticks and mites, the sorts of little buggers that dine on the feathers
and blood of developing chicks.
Birds were also picky about the X they'd use: they could tell the difference between used and
unused X, and the research revealed a preference for the already-used variety.
________ is a noxious substance, and used X hold onto plenty of it, as well as other toxic compounds.
It seems even blood-hungry parasites know better than to get too close to these poisons.
124. 5. For what event are the manholes sealed?
During its inaugural year, this street was revamped with an asphalt surface to withstand forces
exerted during this event. These forces are also able to fling manhole covers free. To withstand high
speeds, the manholes at the this street have to be welded shut each year around September.
A round manhole cover cannot fall through its circular opening, the only way is up.
127. 6. What practice is this?
Modem X for concert use are actually designed specifically with X Y in
mind. When the move stared to become fairly popular amongst
performers back in like the early 90's manufacturers started making their
products more durable so that technicians didn't have to buy a new X
every concert. The biggest concern most technicians have when X Y is
actually the feedback that's going to be coming. That's why you always see
the performers hold the X out for a second before they actually Y it, for the
technician.
