Evaluations question
1. HOW DID YOU USE MEDIA TECHNOLOGIES IN THE
CONSTRUCTION AND RESEARCH, PLANNING AND
EVALUATION STAGES?
LAWRENCE OWUSU-ANTWI
2. PREZI & SLIDESHARE & WORDPRESS
An important step that was necessary for us to take was to set up a blog that would enable us to build-
up and keep track of our work that we planned to produce for our teacher and the examiners. The
website used was WordPress a simple blog’s page. Overall, the blogging site allowed me easy navigation
and accessibility through my blog. It also allowed me to upload all forms of work with several forms of
media. WordPress has features such as embedding and uploading videos and adding pictures that
allowed me to add Prezi and slide shares to the blog.
3. PREZI & SLIDESHARE & WORDPRESS
PREZI , WORDPRESS SLIDESHARE web programs were used in my presentation of my research. I
included my production and evaluation processes included on Slide share. Slide share allowed me to
upload PowerPoints and produce my research in a slideshow format for my WordPress and use Prezi to
make slideshows and presentations such as the analysis of theoretical explanation. Both of these
websites made my blog page and my overall research more engaging and aesthetically appealing
instead of one simplistic typing format.
4. WORD & POWERPOINT & EXCEL & SURVEY MONKEY
For our primary research I used survey monkey, this was a free online survey tool to capture the voices
and opinions of the people and allowed us to earn feedback for us to figure out a possible audience
research. We also used word documents to produce a template of a questionnaire to hand out for those
who watched our video and excel to document and present the data.
5. GOOGLE & YOUTUBE
I did most of my movie trailer research on my laptop, I used the web and internet to help mainly with
gathering ideas using YouTube. Google was another useful search engine that I used while undergoing
my research, I used google to search for photos of uk movie trailers, fonts and images for the poster,
information about film distributions. YouTube is a video uploading and sharing website. It offers a
overabundance of videos that can be viewed from anywhere. I made use of this website a lot for
research. I used Music Channels to help with editing inspiration cause they depend on a lot of short
duration visuals and these were available for research through YouTube channels like Link Up TV and
GRM Daily to MTV which consist of different music videos to different genres of music and different shot
types and locations. We got ideas from all of the existing videos and we analysed what we liked about
them and what we hated about them and used the ideas in our trailers.
6. ADOBE PREMIER PRO, PHOTOSHOP, AFTER EFFECTS, ILLUSTRATOR
In the construction stage, I used a HP Pavilion laptop to operate the various software. Canon EOS 700d
and a Panasonic HC-X920 camera to film our movie trailer video. Along with this camera we used a
tripod to hold our camera still and to get perfect footage. After filming, I uploaded our footage onto the
laptop with a fire wire and uploaded it to Adobe premier pro , here we chose the footage I wanted to
include in the video, included it in our timeline, edited the video, added video transitions, and most
importantly matched the filming to the narration audio and other sound effects. The narration for the
movie trailer was recorded using a IPhone 7+ and transferring the audio to software called Audacity to
remove background noise and alter the audio. The trailer contained a few special effects e.g. CCTV effect
and Snapshots which required me to use Adobe After effects. I also used Adobe Photoshop & illustrator
to make a poster for our Trailer and Magazine cover .
7. From the start of the project I set out
the canvas to have guidelines, so that
the magazine was symmetrical. The
blue lines are the ruler lines which
have snap added, so that the objects
connect to the ruler line to ensure
there straight and aligned.
This is the canvas settings I
used to make the magazine
cover. A4 size and with the
background white
8. Here is a view of how the magazine cover was made using Photoshop. To ensure that my work was
organised I had to make sure each part had its each layer and named in case I needed to change
something it was easy to locate. Some of the layers were put into groups as well for example the
masthead and sub heading were together and the text inside the black box.
9. Here you can see the number of
group folders made to make the
movie poster due to the number of
separate layers. To ensure that my

10. A image of the construction of the movie trailer. which shows the videos and audio used .
This is our timeline and here is how we organised our clips and put it into video mode
and we added audio. Our timeline was also used to track our progress and to see how far
we had come along in our video
11. This is where we chose the type of effect
we wanted to insert in our video. There
was a variety of video/audio effects &
transitions that were available for use.
We used the best ones in our video that
we thought will have the best result and
make it look professional.
Here is the list of clips we
recorded and it is all listed out.
we sorted out the clips that we
thought we were useful and we
wanted to add to our video
Timeline Video & audio bar.
