Community ambassador program v1
1. Community Ambassador Program: Introduce yourself to
your Bay Area LGBT Jewish Community!
By cultivating leadership & celebrating the unique contributions and distinctions that Bay
Area LGBT Jews represent we enhance our opportunities for sustainable connection. The
vision of the Ambassadors' Program is to cultivate leadership and provide increased &
diversified avenues for folks new and old the Bay Area LGBTQ and Allied Jewish community to
connect personally & professionally with other community leaders.
The LGBT Alliance is looking for a few enthusiastic volunteers to donate a few hours each year to raise awareness,
meet many interesting people & have fun. We are in the first stages of building a Bay Area LGBT Jewish Community
Ambassador program (think of it in the beta 2.0 stage so you have the chance to help modify it towards a 3.0
stage). This program is ideal for LGBT Jewish individuals looking for:
An opportunity to become more involved in the local community both LGBT & Jewish
A program that requires only a few hours at a minimum each year
An opportunity that requires only the energy and enthusiasm that you put into it
A volunteer program with no fund raising expectation
An opportunity to develop your leadership value, communication and public presentation skills
As an LGBT Alliance Ambassador, you will have multiple opportunities each year to participate & attend a variety of
activities from Black-tie Fundraising Galas to Shabbatons and Arts and Cultural events. The opportunities may vary
from year to year, but can additionally include:
Attending events and talking about the Bay Area LGBT Jewish community
Identifying and contacting Bay Area LGBT and/or Jewish organizations that would be interested in
our partnership
Assisting in the communication and events links in our online community websites
Together we will be enhancing our leadership skills and learning about how our own individual LGBT Jewish lens
impacts pluralistic dialogue. If you become a volunteer in the program, you will receive training on the skills and
responsibilities necessary to succeed. LGBT Alliance Community Ambassadors will be trained and will qualify for
multiple community opportunities in one-on-one & in small groups. Getting involved with the LGBT Alliance
Ambassador Program is one of the first steps you can take to become more involved in your Bay Area LGBT Jewish
community and be a recognized leader. There are NO fundraising expectations. This program is entirely about
leadership, awareness and communication.
