Tips to learning german

  1. 1. Focus mostly on motivation, because to me, in all language learning, motivation is by far the biggest factor. So you have to find a reason to want to learn this language. FIRST:
  2. 2. German is not as difficult for an English speaker as Russian, Chinese, Japanese, etc..., because it’s a related language.
  3. 3. So, what are the challenges of German? Pronunciation? Well, it’s not as hard as you think.
  4. 4. Youdon’thavetopronounce withaguttural... 'R'
  5. 5. You can pronounce with a rolled 'R' which they do in the south of Germany.
  6. 6. The vowels are not such a big problem. THESPELLINGIS CONSISTENT, BUTIT’S DIFFERENT FROMWHAT WE’REUSEDTO INENGLISH.
  7. 7. When learning German, you just have to get used to what the letters represent.
  8. 8. What may be distracting in German, is all of the nouns are CAPITALIZED
  9. 9. This could be an issue at first. But, any language when you start learning it, & reading it will seem... ALITTLEUNCLEAR.
  10. 10. You can always occasionally refer to a grammar reference book to help you notice.
  11. 11. Don’t totally focus onONE specific aspect of the language. Get involved in more of the vocabulary and more of thelanguage! Exposing yourself to it and just talk withoutworrying about it.
