How many of you have purchased an iPad? \n\n How many of you are thinking of purchasing one?\n\nNot sure how it will help your business?\n\nToday we'll discuss how the iPad can change the way you do business & improve your productivity.\n \nMy name is Sheri Barker and I'm the Designated Broker for LineuM Property Services, a full-service brokerage & property management company here in Tucson. I've been using Mac computers for 6 years & have been exclusively Mac for Real Estate since 2008. \n\nHow many of you use Macs? How many of you have an iPhone?\n\n\n
iPad Basics: The basic operations of the iPad\n\nStandard Apps: Some of the apps that come pre-loaded when you purchase your iPad\n\nMust-Have Apps for Real Estate: are the key essential apps you should be familiar with as a real estate professional. All of these apps for real esate are free (DocuSign requires a DocuSign account, but there’s no additional cost for the iPad app).\n\nBy the end of this presentation, you will realize the full potential of the iPad and what it can do for your business.\n\nFor those of you that have an iPad with you & can access the internet from this room, feel free to download any of these during the presentation through the App Store app.\n

1ST: Important Notes:\n\nWhat iPad is NOT - a regular Computer. There is no usb port & \nDoes not have folders full of files. Files are stored within each application. \nAvailable in 16G, 32G, & 64G - not for storage of ALL your files, but with a couple of accessories can replace your laptop in most cases.\n\nYou can use iDisk, Dropbox or other cloud storage to access your files. Certainly more than enough to allow you to leave your laptop at home during the day or on trips.\n\nMade for multi-tasking, so remember the app does not “close” completely when you go back to the home screen, so remember close down unneeded apps periodically. (Show them how)\n\nTip: A lot of iPad guides were written before the latest update & will tell you the switch next to the volume control is the screen lock. It is no longer the screen lock. It’s the mute switch, which comes in handy if you start to play a video or music in public and you forget the volume is too high!\n\nFor more intense work, you can pair a bluetooth wireless keyboard.\n\nOther accessories: VGA adapter that I’m using right now; Component AV cable allows you to hook up to a tv. Only certain applications will show on another screen.\n

One note about Safari: It does not have “tabbed browsing” meaning that you have to open a new window if you want to save the page you’re on but also have another site open. If you want a web browser that has tabbed browsing, download Atomic Web Browser. This web browser will feel a lot more like what your used to using.\n

You can access the MLS on your iPad through Safari, but it’s important to know how your clients & potential clients search for homes on their own. It’s also a good idea to check your own listings to see how they show up in the iPad apps.\n
