2. Introduction
Before embarking on a career as a
biotechnology investor, Dr. Lindsay
Rosenwald earned his M.D. from the
Temple University School of Medicine.
Dr. Lindsay Rosenwald has since
played a key role in the development
of several major cancer-fighting drugs.
3. About the Temple University
School of Medicine
The Temple University School of
Medicine has a history of involvement in
the fight against cancer. In late
September 2013, the institution
presented a daylong symposium to
honor a scientist who spent 18 years at
the head of its Fels Institute for Cancer
Research and Molecular Biology. The
researcher, E. Premkumar Reddy, Ph.D.,
now works in molecular oncology as the
Mount Sinai School of Medicine’s
director of experimental cancer
therapeutics.
4. Conclusion
The symposium welcomed nine of the
honorees’ long-standing colleagues,
who spoke about cancer biology and
offered up personal stories to enliven
their talks. The honoree himself also
took the stage in order to thank the
attendees and discuss the
development of an anti-cancer
treatment that he developed while at
Temple.
