9. STN uses an established SD/HD
channel playout with advanced
graphics performance with virtually
unlimited layers of animated text,
multi-level animations and dual
channel DVEs. Customers can choose
between three tier play-out options,
each with its unique capability to be
tailored for each customer’s specific
needs.
Play-Out
STN offers feature limited versions of
our playout system, which is
configured to operate in a slave mode
receiving triggers from an up-stream
system to insert content into a network
channel feed. This highly reliable
solution allows channel owners and
broadcast affiliates to insert locally-
generated commercials and short
programs into remotely distributed
regional programs before they are
delivered to home viewers.
Opt-Out service
STN can provide various conditional
access (CA) solutions. CA systems
offer high level security to the already
established or new pay-tv operators
when and where required. STN can

platform for high-value services in
order to prevent piracy and safeguard

31. STN can receive a signal in a variety of standards including NTSC, PAL or
SECAM and HDTV formats in 1080p59.94, 1080p50, 1080i59.94, 1080i50,
720p59.94 or 720p50 and convert it to any other standard using state of the
art motion compensated cross converters.
For playout customers STN uses a three tier play-out options (Bronze, Silver
and Gold) all of which are industry established SD/HD channel playout
systems with advanced graphics capabilities, each with its unique capability
to tailor customers specific needs.
STN’s compression head end system is based on the latest series of SD/HD
MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 AVC encoders with integrated multi-pass processing.
The system provides world-class encoding performance.
Utilizing these latest technological advances STN delivers outstanding picture
quality in MPEG-2 and MPEG-4. With STN there are no restrictions: 10-bit,
4:2:2, JPEG 2000 or 3DTV are all available today. UHDTV workflow at 4K is
also supported by STN.
