In this case study, we will review the journey of establishing LerGO, and the key considerations for the main decisions on its way. We will review the key decisions criteria in selecting the type of organization (for profit vs. social venture vs. nonprofit), delivery model (on premise vs. cloud), license model (open source vs. proprietary) and license type (MIT vs GNU GPL vs. Apache). We will also share with you our key considerations for the cloud platform chosen (AWS vs. AppEngine vs. Azure) and for the fund raising method (VC vs. Funds vs. CrowdFunding). Since LerGO has recently launched an Indiegogo campaign (http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/lergo-free-kids-education) we will also share with you where we are today, why we chose Indiegogo as the crowd funding platform and the lessons learned so far. Finally, we will share with you how you can help us too.
