Material Poverty
• “The earth is the Lord’s and all that is in it, the
world, and those who live in it.” – (Psalms 24:1)
Thus, before God each one of us is poor. However,
some of us share in economic conditions that do
not make us materially poor whereas others are not
able to share in the same circumstances.
• Some of us are able to obtain the necessities of
daily living such as food, clothing and shelter while
other struggle to do so.
- :
Material Poverty affects an individual

equipment and gadgets relevant to his/her career.

enjoy and use educational materials like books, gadgets,
applications, links, units, courses, etc.
• Limiting a certain person’s capacity to have the equal
amount of health care.
• Limits a certain person’s accessibility to enjoy life
having material luxury to physical enhancements like
aesthetics, cosmetics, beautifying drugs etc.
• Feeling low or depressed or even insecure
because you don’t have what others have or
have less of what they have.
• Feeling left out because of not being able to
cope up with the trend.
• Losing self-esteem because of not being able
to cope up with the trend.
• Losing the will to compete with others that
have those materials that you don’t have.
• Setting limits to a person’s creativity because of
the lack of equipment and tools.
• Killing the hope to innovate because the lack of
resources.
• Having the mindset of being in the low class
because you don’t have what other’s have or
have less of what they have.
• Installing limitations to your cognition because
of lack of educational materials or processes to
work on.
• Losing one’s self will or confidence to interact
with others that have higher set of materials
or material value.
• Labelling one’s self because of his material
value, victims of this would feel left out and

Why do people work abroad?
• Working abroad is such a big opportunity to
enhance ones career. Working abroad
provides higher income. It is because dollars
has greater value than peso. This is the reason
why most Filipinos choose to work abroad.
This is the reason why most parents sacrifice
themselves to work abroad for their family
especially for their children.
Most people think that having someone who
works overseas is also having a luxurious life.
But the reality is often the opposite of that
thought.
Most adolescents are having hard time having
their parents working abroad. Because as we
grow up we need to have proper guidance from
our parents.
Effect on Adolescents :
• Having hard time in coping with life problems.
• Independence, the child might think that
he/she might not be needing his/her parents
guidance.
• Incompleteness towards family relationship
• Easily influenced by peers or friends
• Will become rebellious
