Trained as an Environmental Engineer in Germany, I spent 1.5 years in Durban/South Africa as part of my Master’s degree. Realising the need for research in the sector of Sanitary Engineering, I started my professional career as a Project Officer in Switzerland at Eawag/Sandec, which I was part of for 4.5 years. Faecal sludge management is my passion and grew out of being faced by the deteriorating effect of inappropriate excreta management on public health and the environment.
