8. EFFECTS OF DRUG ON ORGAN FUNCTIONING
- Liver:- There are toxic effects associated with drugs. When
you take drugs like heroin or drink alcohol in excess, your
liver must work harder to break them down. Over time, this
can cause liver damage and impaired liver function.
- Heart:- Most drugs can damage your cardiovascular system
in some way, whether that means heart attack or abnormal
heart rates.
- Brain:- A drug can cause the brain to release more
dopamine than one naturally. Often, the release begins as
soon as the drug is taken. Drugs can prolong their effects
for hours at a time, depending on the drug take.
