Kelleys Island is a small island located in Lake Erie, just off the coast of Ohio. In the 1830s, it was on the frontier of Ohio and was unsettled. Now, it attracts many summer visitors for activities like beaches, golf carts, fishing, and boating. However, during the winter months when the tourists leave, the island empties out and takes on a quiet, isolated atmosphere with just the year-round residents remaining.
