4. FAMILY OF VEHICLES MULO is a family of light working vehicles powered by solar, electric and human power, convertible in four variants: freight transport, people transport, green areas maintenance and peddling basic platform freight transport people transport green area maintenance peddling

TECHNICAL DETAILS The vehicle has been designed to reduce as much as possible the production costs: - most of the components are standard components derived from the bicycle sector and the electric sector - components related to the frame are made welding pipe - plastic components are made using the simplest technologies: thermo-molding and roto-molding

18. THE OBJECTIVE IS TO BUILD AN EUROPEAN-AFRICAN NETWORK OF UNIVERSITIES TO TACKLE THE ISSUE OF THE INDUSTRIAL AND HUMAN RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT. THE FINAL GOAL IS TO SET UP A CONTINUOUS COOPERATION BETWEEN INDUSTRY AND UNIVERSITY IN ORDER TO PROVIDE ADVANTAGES TO LOCAL INDUSTRIES. UNIVERSITY CHAIR ON INNOVATION

25. INTERACTION STORY-BOARD 1 A partnership between CPUT, DWDE and Shonaquip is set-up. The aim of the partnership is to implement a mobility service for phisically challanged people.

26. INTERACTION STORY-BOARD 2 The partnership designs the system, the service and the product (in collaboration with Polimi and Ipsia, and in case with some Italian companies).

27. INTERACTION STORY-BOARD 3 Shonaquip and DWDE manage the purchase and production of components, and the vehicles assembly. They will keep the ownership of the vehicles.

28. INTERACTION STORY-BOARD 4 DWDE and Shonaquip explain to the Reconstricted Team how to mantain and use the vehicle. The Reconstructed team in fact will manage the service.

29. INTERACTION STORY-BOARD 5 Family of disabled student communicates to the service provider the mobility needs of the student.

30. INTERACTION STORY-BOARD 6 The Reconstructed team manages all the data using a database. Moreover it works as a service hub for people who want to work as drivers.

31. INTERACTION STORY-BOARD 7 The students transportation is managed by the Reconstructed team, and done by hired drivers.

32. INTERACTION STORY-BOARD 8 Student, but also elderly people, are transported to the school, hospital, or wherever they need. There should be no fee for them. Maybe there could be a contribution coming from the schools and or the hospitals.

33. INTERACTION STORY-BOARD 9 Vehicles can be also use to transport people and tourists within the city centre. This service could represent another source of revenue.

34. INTERACTION STORY-BOARD 10 When vehicles are not used they can be used to produce electric energy, that could be sold to the local energy supplier. This could represent another source of revenue.

35. INTERACTION STORY-BOARD 11 Shonaquip and DWDE take care of the maintenance and repairs of the vehicle, as well as the reuse of components and recycling of materials.

36. TRANSITION PATH WE DON’T DESIGN ONLY THE PSS SOLUTION, BUT ALSO THE PROPER CONDITIONS TO FOSTER THE DISSEMINATION OF THE SOLUTION ITSELF. IN OTHER WORDS WE ALSO DESIGN THE TRANSITION PATH TO SUPPORT THE EXPERIMENTATION, INTRODUCTION AND SCALING-UP OF THE SOLUTION
