Marketers are always looking at finding new and effective ways
to reach their target audience. With Facebook being a major
social network force where potential customers are spending
significant time, maximizing the effectiveness of your clients
Facebook page is a critical consideration.
Facebook Campaigns offer this type of potential. Here’s the
resource compilation on how to track Facebook Campaigns!
1. Subscribe to Buzzfeed and Mashable
CAMPAIGNS CAN:
•Drive Traffic
•Increase “Likes” of the fan page
•Extend audience reach to friends of current fans
•Boost engagement and activity on a fan page
•Generate buzz and viral sharing
When you visit the Pages/site of Buzzfeed and Mashable you will
often find case studies and blogs about the currently trending
social media campaigns and the low down on how effective the
campaign is and the result it’s delivering.
2. Determine the goal of the campaign
What is the primary purpose of the campaign? Is your focus to
increase social engagement to your Facebook or Twitter pages? Or
are you interested in using the campaign as a lead building
strategy?
The goal that you choose will determine the type of contest and
entries that you will run. Additionally, you also need to determine
your budget for promoting the campaign.
3. What will you be giving away, and how long will the contest run?
Based on the goal of the campaign/contest, your margins, and your
audience, you can select a giveaway product that people will love.
If you have an obscure product, giving it away may not be a sufficient
incentive for people to enter your giveaway. In that case you may
choose to give away a Visa gift card or a gadget or something that
everyone will want.
Additionally, you must determine how long your contest will run. We
find that 1 month is optimal, as it gives you enough time to get the
most out of the giveaway, without being much too long thus causing
people to forget all about it.
4. Establish Benchmarks
Before you launch your campaign, create a document for yourself

•Average monthly visitors
•Engagement Rate
•Number of subscriptions/registrations, etc.
5. Create an email/post/cover photo announcing the giveaway to
your email subscriber/fans/participants
Reaching out to your current customers and subscribers gives you
an opportunity to “seed” the giveaway with existing
fans. Additionally, this gives your customers an opportunity to
engage with your brand.
6. Promote your giveaway on a daily basis
Through daily posts and updates, you can promote the campaign
and the prize involved in it to build more interaction and
participation. Promote your giveaway aggressively!
Additionally, you may choose to advertise your prize on a variety
of platforms.
Here are a few options:
•Promoted Posts on Facebook
•Use StumbleUpon’s Paid Discovery
•Reddit’s advertising platform
•Promoted Posts on Twitter
7. Email/message the giveaway entrants to encourage them to
come back
Halfway through the campaign, send out an email/private message
to all of the entrants to encourage them to return to your Page/site
for more entries.
You may choose to add a new “Mega Entry” to encourage people
to participate, or simply by sending them a reminder you may
generate more buzz.
By sending out an email/message, you may get some of the existing
entrants to Tweet about the campaign, or post on their Facebook
page, which will in turn generate more exposure to your campaign.
8. Select your winner!
Notify the winner immediately and ask them for permission to use
their picture in an email or private message announcing the winner
of the contest.
Once you have announced the winner you can make this into a
post and broadcast it on the Page.
9. Mail out the prize
Don’t just send out the product in a boring box. Make it
beautiful! Add a personalized letter or something that will make the
winner feel special. Encourage the winner to share about winning
the price, and to review your product on their site.
