• iMovie
Camera Equipment:
• Video Camera/ Sony 20mp camera
• Tripod
Presentation Methods
• Microsoft PowerPoint
• Microsoft Word
• Prezi
• Padlet

• Popplet
3. Throughout my production I have developed the skills of using a video camera in
terms of the camera shots/positioning but also using different effects on the
camera which enable me to adjust the lighting, positioning of the shot- rule of
thirds and depth of the shot. I have developed a significant understanding of these
features which has enabled me to create an effective production.
The use of the video camera enabled me to use the gird in order to position my
shots conventionally. I placed my characters, conventionally in the route of the
eye, I did this by making sure they were on the 1st and 3rd line in the rule of thirds.
This made my horror trailer look much more professional and conventional as this
is a typical feature used in film production.
Furthermore, the effects on the video camera enabled me to adjust the lighting of
the shots to fit the surroundings and change any disturbance in natural lighting.
This was really effective in making my shots conventional to a horror trailer as I
could use ‘night mode’ on my camera which made the shot darker.
During my production I have two tripods when shooting my film clips, this was
effective for my production as I was able to create a steady and controlled shot so
I was able to avoid shakiness which would make my production look
unprofessional.
4. The software was simple and easy to use as I was able to
transfer/upload my footage quickly and successfully by clicking ‘add
media’ tool. This transferred my footage straight onto the timeline
which I could then use to edit and transform into my trailer.
Adobe Premiere Elements was extremely effectively in my editing
process as there was a wide range of tools that I could use in order
to crop my footage. It allowed me to cut and crop by simply
highlighting a part of the clip and right clicking ‘delete’, this was a
simple and effectively process which enabled me to dispose of any
unwanted footage that went wrong.
There were many other features that allowed me to create a success
production work such as the colour contrast features. These tools
enabled me to adjust the lighting and contrast of colour. This was
extremely beneficial as it is a key convention to have low-key
lighting in horror films. I was also able to change the pace of the
editing in order to heighten the tension and drama throughout.
5. I was diverse in terms of my presentation methods in order to
present my production work effectively and clearly. Throughout
my research and planning I used software's such as Microsoft
PowerPoint and Word. These were my most typical forms of
presentation as I could supply a large quantity of information in
a simplified and easily readable form. Also with PowerPoint I was
able to use this software to upload images using the ‘JPEG’ file
which made my research and planning more interesting and
diverse. Also these software’s were easily accessible for my
documents as I could find them quick and easily and upload
them to my blog.
With a software such as Word I could maintain a visual-appeal
however still gives detailed and in-depth explanations
throughout my planning and productions. Therefore this appeals
to a range of different audiences who either learn visually or by
reading information.
6. By using YouTube converter in my production and evaluation
work meant that I could take music and videos from YouTube
and transfer them onto iMovie or Adobe Premiere elements.
Also by converting these files into an MP3 format it enabled
me to transfer them from a YouTube video to a sound clip
which I could then incorporate into my production. Once I
made them into a sound clip I could add them onto my
timeline by using the ‘add media’ tool and then I could crop
the sound to fit my trailer.
By using clip converter I was able to take my film trailer from
YouTube and transfer it onto iMovie . I was then able to
analyse and label my production work in my evaluation work.
This process was quick and effective in terms of highlighting
my work’s advantages and disadvantages.
7. I used sound cloud in order to present the music that I have
used in my production onto my blog. This was an effective
software as it enabled me to provide evidence for my
production work on my blog. I also used this software
throughout my planning to show possible music clips/ non-
diegetic music that I may have used in my production work.
This enabled me to show that I have researched and planned
what I am going to use. Also by putting these sound clips and
music onto my blog, I was able to obtain feedback to see
whether they are conventional to the genre.
8. By using social media such as survey monkey, I was able to
obtain audience feedback throughout my planning and
production work to see if I was successfully following
conventions and targeting my retrospective audience. This
was a key process in creating success production work as I
was able to receive feedback from my audience which
enabled me to develop my work accordingly. During my
planning stages I received audience feedback to see if my
ideas and storyline was conventional and appealing. This was
extremely conventional because I was consistently altering my
ideas and planning to suit the demands of the audience.
Therefore I knew I was following conventions throughout the
stages as I received feedback from the audience of my genre.
9. I used many different platforms to presents my planning such as
Popplet, Prezi, Slide share and many more… These platforms
were effectively as they conveyed my information in an exciting
and engaging way which helps to show the wide range of media I
have learnt to use and work with.
Popplet was effective in presenting a large quantity of
information in small chunks which are simplified and easy to
understand. It is also a quick read which clearly summarises my
point.
Prezi conveys my information in a mature and professional
manner as it enabled me to order (in paragraphs) detailed
explanations in an easily readable way.
Slide share is similar to the format of PowerPoint but acted as a
platform to easily upload my work straight to my blog as it
provided an ‘embed code’ to place in the ‘HTML’ section of my
blog.
