COMMON INFORMATION ABOUT HOOD CIRCULATION

Extractor hood also known as a kitchen hood is a device containing a fan that hangs above the stove in
the kitchen. It is used to remove airborne grease, smoke, odors and steam from the air by a combination
of filtration and evacuation of the air

An extractor hood consists of three main components: a skirt or capture panel to contain the rising gases
(also known as the “effluent plume”), one or more grease filters, and a fan or tangential blower for forced
ventilation. For other uses, see Fan. ... Return inlet (left)Supply outlet (right). ...

There are 2 types of use of extractor hoods: vented use, and ductless (or recirculating) use. In a ducted
use, the outlet of the extractor hood’s blower is attached to a duct system, which terminates dirty air out-
side of the residence. In a ductless use, a filter containing charcoal is used to remove odor and smoke
particles from the air, before releasing the cleaned air back into the kitchen environment.

Extractor hoods are produced from a variety of
materials, including: copper, steel, tempered
glass, wood, aluminum, brass, heat-resistant
plastics, and more.

heat into the kitchen environment. In addition,
ducted use eliminates the need for replacing
the activated charcoal filters on a regular ba-
sis, and avoids the airflow restriction caused by
charcoal filter placement. However, some kitch-
en environments do not allow ducted application, due to lack of space or ability to install a duct system.
SILVERLINE hoods allow for both types of applications.

HIGHLIGHTS
REMOTE CONTROL

Silverline has added remote control availability to its range of appliances. Indicated
chimney hoods can be operated via remote control allowing for excellent ease of use,
eliminating the need for stretching to operate and also giving the option to switch on
or off from a distance, the dining table for example.

Silverline stainless steel and glass aesthetics that would look at home in any modern kitchen while offering
high performance, with a maximum extraction rate. Even when operated at such high power, maintains

MULTICOLOR LCD

Silverline offers its customers a unique experience.

The multicolor LCD screen the first in the world, allows you to change the color of
your LCD screen, One of more than million colors, which LCD control panel includes,
looks well on you and on your kitchen. Your chimney hood might notify that the
meals are cooked or remind you the cleaning period of the filters. You may see the
time clock on its wide screen. Using the automatic time out function, you don’t need
to come back again when you are finished with your kitchen.

SPLIT (PERIMETER) EXTRACTION

Split extraction of Silverline hoods ensures improved airflow and energy
consumption.

Stylish design does not come at the expense of performance though.
In fact innovations in style have lead to advances in extraction technol-
ogy such as split aspiration. By carefully engineering the air flow into
the fan, the whole front surface of the hood becomes the suction area
allowing more efficient extraction performance. Universally acclaimed
for their radically innovative appearance, Silverline high performance
hoods can transform your kitchen into a unique and distinctive environment. Today, Silverline products
are far more than simple hoods for domestic kitchens: they are key personalities that define the environ-
ment within which they are installed.

DECORATIVE GLASS COLORS

The latest design of wall hoods are made of combination various colors glass
and steel. With top level technology hood performance and functionality
are as good as its looks. Low noise level, touchscreen and touch button con-
trol, dishwashers-safe filters, LED lighting (optional on limited models) and
split extraction system.

IN-DIRECT LIGHTING

Flat models represent a breakthrough in contemporary range
hood design with beautiful decorative glass panels. In-direct
lighting provide plenty of light by reflecting light to the kitch-
en in directly through the wall. The series includes Internal
down illumination, a powerful blower and adjustable chim-
ney convenient features such as the filter cleaning reminder
and delayed shut-off. Powerful, beautiful, and functional with
tempered glass designs.

OVENS

Consumption

Electric ovens are graded from A to G, where A is the best, for energy efficiency depending on the amount
of electricity it uses. Select a high graded machine to save money on running costs and get the best per-
formance from your appliance.

Gas ovens and hobs are not included in these tests.
SILVERLINE has A class ovens in the range up to customer needs.
Key information about ovens

• Telescopic Shelving – allows the rails on the side of an oven shelf to extend
so that you can pull a pan out of the oven to turn or baste without having to
support the weight or remove it from the shelf.
• Electronic Controls – provide greater accuracy and maintain a constant tem-
perature.
• Timer – SILVERLINE ovens will have timers and alarms to remind you to turn
the heat off, but more advanced appliances have a timer that will also turn the
heat on and off on ovens.

To achieve a more streamlined look, ovens can be separated from the hob and built in to kitchen cabinets
either above the worktop in a ‘tower’ or beneath the worktop.

With the possible inclusion of a grill, these ovens can be mounted in a tower above the worktop level, or
may be ‘built under’ beneath the worktop.

Being a single cavity, these ovens can be set at one temperature and can bake or grill, but not simultane-
ously, so handling multiple dishes can be tricky.

HOBS

‘Built in’ hobs do not have to be located immediately above or beside the oven(s), this can therefore make
for flexible working spaces in your kitchen.

Types

Most hobs have four burners, configured with one large, two medium and one simmer ring. These are
most frequently laid out in a square although more unusual layouts can be found up to 90cm wide.
Built in hobs with five rings are also now widely available, and often these will fit into the same worktop
hole as a four ring hob.

SILVERLINE also has developed domino mini-hobs, each of which carries a gas burner, a ceramic ring, a
griddle. These can then be collected in any combination.

• Standard dimensions are 60cm.
• Five ring hobs are usually 70cm to 90cm in width.
• Each mini-hob measures approximately 30cm wide.

MICROWAVE OVENS

Although widely available as standalone appliances, several models are also available for building in.
Many users find they get greatest convenience from a single oven ‘built in’, with a microwave on top,
instead of a double ‘built in’ oven.

Since SILVERLINE microwaves now offer a grill function, and some even include a conventional oven func-
tion, these really can provide a flexible cooking solution.

DISHWASHERS

When they were first developed, automatic dishwashers were something of a domestic luxury designed
to save time, but today’s efficient models also save water and energy too, when compared to hand wash-
ing in the sink. Dishwashers are also extremely useful for hiding the dirty crockery until it’s cleaned up!

Types

Dishwashers are available in 3 distinct formats; freestanding, semi-integrated and integrated, which in
turn are available in a number of sizes to either integrate with, or locate between, the existing units. SIL-
VERLINE has semi-integrated, integrated and built-in range.

Consumption

Dishwashers are graded from A to G, SILVERLINE has A models which is the best. This rating is derived
from the following measures;

Cleaning Performance – ability to remove dried grease and food.
Energy Efficiency – amount of hot water and electricity used during a wash cycle.
Drying Performance – degree of moisture left on crockery after a wash.

Noise Level

Some dishwashers can make a fair bit of noise while they’re running, which can be somewhat bother-
some, especially in an open plan living situation. However, some machines do work more quietly than
others thanks to greater insulation and some cunning water distribution techniques, so consider selecting
a model that has a lower decibel (dB) rating. SILVERLINE offers silent dishwashers

Key Features

Washing Programs - with anything from a handful to a myriad of different cycles, dishwashers should be
able to care for almost any piece of crockery, glassware and cookware.

Energy Saving - in the search for increasingly economical function, the more advanced machines have all
sorts of developments allowing you to wash one basket at a time, reuse water or use a heat exchange to
keep energy and water usage to a minimum.

Adjustable Baskets – SILVERLINE dishwashers has a top basket whose height can be adjusted to make
room for bulky items placed on the bottom rack.

DISHWASHERS

Timer – SILVERLINE dishwashers now has the option of a start delay timer, allowing you to use electricity
at its cheapest or put the dishwasher on at the most convenient time.

Dishwashers are available in 3 distinct formats; freestanding, semi-integrated and integrated, which in
turn are available in a number of sizes to either integrate with, or locate between, the existing units.

Available formats

All kitchen appliances share the following common attributes;
Freestanding or Integrated

All appliances are available as either a freestanding, self-contained unit that slots in between cupboards,
or in a form that permits at least some degree of integration into the kitchen furniture.
In most cases, integration means that the machine is completely hidden beneath the worktop and behind
a panel that matches the rest of the kitchen, and thus disguises the appliance to look like a cupboard.
Appliances such as dishwashers and washing machines can be semi-integrated, wherein the majority of
the front fascia is covered by a kitchen panel, but the top horizontal control panel is still visible

REFRIGERATORS

Every kitchen needs somewhere to keep perishable food fresh. This has led manufacturers to cater to
almost every need.

Since the 1970s, it has been known that refrigerant gases such as CFCs (chlorofluorocarbons) and HFCs
(hydrofluorocarbons) can damage the ozone, and in turn cause global warming. Since the 1990s all new
fridges and freezers have been manufactured to use natural hydrocarbon gases, known as R600A and
R134A, which cause no such damage to our environment.

When installing a fridge or freezer, keep it upright at all times and leave it to stand for at least 6 hours
before turning it on to allow the gases to settle.

Size & Format

A myriad of permutations and combinations of refrigerator & freezer size and shape are available on the
market. To reduce the search somewhat, it helps to understand you and your family’s needs in relation to
fridge & freezer formats.

Performance

Fridges and freezers are graded from A++ to G, where A++ is the best, for energy efficiency depending
on the amount of electricity it uses. SILVERLINE has A class refrigerator.

Noise

Cooling appliances work using a compressor to force refrigerant gas through coils of evaporating pipes,
and this mechanism can make a considerable noise, especially as the appliance increases in size. SILVER-
LINE has low noise freezer.

Key Features

• Frost Free & Auto Defrost - Any appliance that includes a freezer is at risk of becoming decreasingly ef-
ficient as ice builds up. Appliances that are frost free or have an auto defrost function include mechanisms
to prevent ice building up, either by circulating dry air that contains no moisture which could turn to ice,
or by regularly melting it. Freezers don’t have auto defrost functions to avoid spoiling the food stored in
them.

• Capacity - The internal capacity of a fridge or freezer determines just how much food can be stored in it,
and for comparison purposes this measurement, in cubic foot (cu ft), should be detailed on each model.

• Glass Shelves - More expensive than standard wire ones, but glass shelves do carry the advantages that
they prevent spillages from dripping on to lower layers, they hold the cold to make the fridge function
more efficiently and they are also easier to clean.

• Freezer Rating – To show the temperature at which a freezer operates, star ratings are as follows;
