Policy Statement and Purpose
First aid is of utmost necessity in the workplace. It must be kept and maintained within
the organisation by the management to ensure that the employees are protected from any
harm physically, and a safe and secure working environment needs to be developed for the
employees by possessing a stable first aid provision system (WorkSafeBC, 2022).
The employees must be trained with the support of advanced technology so that they
can identify the risks that can cause injury to individuals and reduce them by the application of
well-defined measures (WorkSafeBC, 2022).
Context & Purpose
 What is the purpose of this policy? Why is the organization doing this?
Canadian Plasma Resources
The purpose of this policy is to minimize the risks of any injury and the risks of any future
disability. In the context of any serious case, first aid is extremely important for keeping the
injured person safe and alive.
The relevant company can be categorized under the sector of the medical industry. The
organizations of the medical industry frequently use medical tools and appliances, like needles,
and leeches which are often dangerous in nature. Hence, the organization has implemented this
policy as a safety measure. Furthermore, the relevant Canadian organization aims to abide by the
rules and regulations of the Canada Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.
Objectives
 What are the high-level objectives?
The high-level objectives of the relevant policy are as follows:
 Life preservation
 Harm prevention
 Facilitating recovery.
Apart from that, it should also be mentioned that in “first-aid”, “ABC” stands for:
 A- Airway
 B- Breathing
 C- Circulation
Legislations
What legislation is being referred to?
Section 16.2 (1) of Canada Occupational Health and Safety Regulations states that “every
employer must establish and keep up-to-date written instructions that provide for the prompt
rendering of first aid to an employee for an injury, an occupational disease or an illness” (Canada
Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, 2022). Apart from that, Section 16.3 (1) of the same
regulation asserts “at every workplace at which six or more employees are working at any time,
the employer shall ensure that there is a first aid attendant” (Canada Occupational Health and
Safety Regulations, 2022).
Scope
The policy applies to all employees working within the boundaries of the workplace
premises. It is also applicable for all visiting customers and contractors, within the boundaries of
the workplace premises.
Responsibilities
The roles and responsibilities of the employer:
 The employer should provide at least one first aid professional per six employees.
 The employer should effectively register every incident of minor or major injuries within
the workplace premises, which requires first-aid help.
 The employer should evaluate the relevant policy every year, by the changing laws and
regulations of the country.
The roles and responsibilities of the employees:
 The employees should be cooperative with each other, during every instance of injury.
 The employees are responsible for reporting every incident of injury and first-aid
applications to the employer.
 The employees are also responsible for the maintenance of the basic workplace or
occupational health and safety procedures (WorkSafeBC, 2022).
Roles and responsibilities of the customers:
 The customers should be responsible enough to abide by the instruction of the
organizational employees.
 The customers should collaborate with the employees, during any occasions of injury.
What each party is required to do or is responsible for to support this policy?
The employer is responsible for monitoring the policy maintenance functions of the
employees and the customers on an overall basis. The employees are responsible for strictly
abiding by the company policies and procedures, relating to workplace health and safety, and
the relevant policy. The customers are responsible for strictly following the instructions given out
by the employees in this regard.
 Identify how and to whom to report violations of the policy.
All policy violations should be reported to the Health and Safety Management body of the
organisation.
Metrics
 What do you expect will either improve or reduce as a result of your policy?
The overall workplace health of the employees will increase or improve as a result of this
policy, as the relevant policy provides safety measures to the already injured persons. The
aforesaid phenomenon, in turn, will improve the quality of employee performance. Apart from
that, the serious health issues which arise out of delayed treatment will be reduced.
 What are you measuring?
The occupational health and safety success rate of the policy is being measured here.
The total number of speedy recoveries of the employees will ensure the success of the policy

For-Designing of a new policy outlining first aid requirements of employees
I am writing this mail to bring to your notice that we have made a policy on developing
emergency first aid requirements and facilities for the employees working in the company.
As a healthcare firm, there might be issues relating to the safety of the employees hence to
deal with such scenarios it is important to be prepared beforehand and hence, we can feel
the relevance of policy. There has been an estimated cost of 1000 CAD for acquiring the
information and developing the policy in the workplace to be implemented with logic.
I would be really obliged if you would go through the policies and work on the budget and
approval and kindly authorize it as soon as possible so that it can come into effect.
Depending upon the organizational framework, the ROI plan will be determined and
established by the calculation of direct and indirect costs incurred due to the physical injury
of employees.

I am writing this mail to bring to your notice that we have compiled our policy relating to
maintaining workplace safety by providing immediate first aid facilities to the employees
who are suddenly injured and hence we require a series of support from your side. Apart
from this, we have also devised plans to train and educate the employees from time to time
about the provisions that are associated with the policy of provision of immediate first aid
to the employees. I also delegated relevant tasks associated with setting up a proper
infrastructure system that can be implemented within a specific time of 3 months.
I would be highly obliged if you could support me in reaching out to numerous people about
the relevance and application of the brand-new policy dealing with providing first aid to the
employees of the company.

It must be kept and maintained within the organisation by the management to ensure that the employees are protected from any harm physically, and a safe and secure working environment needs to be developed for the employees by possessing a stable first aid provision system (WorkSafeBC, 2022). The employees must be trained with the support of advanced technology so that they can identify the risks that can cause injury to individuals and reduce them by the application of well-defined measures (WorkSafeBC, 2022).   • 4. The purpose of this policy is to minimize the risks of any injury and the risks of any future disability. In the context of any serious case, first aid is extremely important for keeping the injured person safe and alive. The relevant company can be categorized under the sector of the medical industry. The organizations of the medical industry frequently use medical tools and appliances, like needles, and leeches which are often dangerous in nature. Hence, the organization has implemented this policy as a safety measure. Furthermore, the relevant Canadian organization aims to abide by the rules and regulations of the Canada Occupational Health and Safety Regulations. Objectives  What are the high-level objectives? The high-level objectives of the relevant policy are as follows:  Life preservation  Harm prevention  Facilitating recovery. Apart from that, it should also be mentioned that in “first-aid”, “ABC” stands for:  A- Airway  B- Breathing  C- Circulation Legislations What legislation is being referred to?

Section 16.2 (1) of Canada Occupational Health and Safety Regulations states that “every employer must establish and keep up-to-date written instructions that provide for the prompt rendering of first aid to an employee for an injury, an occupational disease or an illness” (Canada Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, 2022). Apart from that, Section 16.3 (1) of the same regulation asserts “at every workplace at which six or more employees are working at any time, the employer shall ensure that there is a first aid attendant” (Canada Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, 2022). Scope The policy applies to all employees working within the boundaries of the workplace premises. It is also applicable for all visiting customers and contractors, within the boundaries of the workplace premises. Responsibilities The roles and responsibilities of the employer:  The employer should provide at least one first aid professional per six employees.  The employer should effectively register every incident of minor or major injuries within the workplace premises, which requires first-aid help.  The employer should evaluate the relevant policy every year, by the changing laws and regulations of the country. The roles and responsibilities of the employees:  The employees should be cooperative with each other, during every instance of injury.  The employees are responsible for reporting every incident of injury and first-aid applications to the employer.
  • 6.  The employees are also responsible for the maintenance of the basic workplace or occupational health and safety procedures (WorkSafeBC, 2022). Roles and responsibilities of the customers:  The customers should be responsible enough to abide by the instruction of the organizational employees.  The customers should collaborate with the employees, during any occasions of injury. What each party is required to do or is responsible for to support this policy? The employer is responsible for monitoring the policy maintenance functions of the employees and the customers on an overall basis. The employees are responsible for strictly abiding by the company policies and procedures, relating to workplace health and safety, and the relevant policy. The customers are responsible for strictly following the instructions given out by the employees in this regard.  Identify how and to whom to report violations of the policy. All policy violations should be reported to the Health and Safety Management body of the organisation. Metrics  What do you expect will either improve or reduce as a result of your policy? The overall workplace health of the employees will increase or improve as a result of this policy, as the relevant policy provides safety measures to the already injured persons. The
  • 7. aforesaid phenomenon, in turn, will improve the quality of employee performance. Apart from that, the serious health issues which arise out of delayed treatment will be reduced.  What are you measuring? The occupational health and safety success rate of the policy is being measured here. (SOR,2019) Part Two Email to Senior Management To The Senior Manager, Dated- October 15, 2022 Canadian Plasma Resources, 10 Palace Street, Toronto Canada For-Designing of a new policy outlining first aid requirements of employees I am writing this mail to bring to your notice that we have made a policy on developing emergency first aid requirements and facilities for the employees working in the company. As a healthcare firm, there might be issues relating to the safety of the employees hence to deal with such scenarios it is important to be prepared beforehand and hence, we can feel the relevance of policy. There has been an estimated cost of 1000 CAD for acquiring the information and developing the policy in the workplace to be implemented with logic.
  • 8. I would be really obliged if you would go through the policies and work on the budget and approval and kindly authorize it as soon as possible so that it can come into effect. Depending upon the organizational framework, the ROI plan will be determined and established by the calculation of direct and indirect costs incurred due to the physical injury of employees. Apart from this, we have also devised plans to train and educate the employees from time to time about the provisions that are associated with the policy of provision of immediate first aid to the employees. I also delegated relevant tasks associated with setting up a proper infrastructure system that can be implemented within a specific time of 3 months.
