Differentiated instructional techniques can engage students and provide educational opportunities. Teachers should be consistent with each student and differentiate instruction to match their skill levels. An interactive flipped classroom approach using educational technology can engage students both in and out of school. Problem and project-based learning provides opportunities for critical thinking, team building, and solving complex problems. As an educator, it is important to create an interactive and tech-driven classroom environment to make learning more fun and provide real-world challenges to prepare students with 21st century skills for future success.
1. Differentiated Instructional Techniques and How to Engage
Students and Provide Educational Opportunities
First of all, I feel like you need to be consistent with the way that
you approacheach student. Studentsneed to have someonewho is
going to be consistent with them and providethem with the direction
and positive reinforcementthat they deserve. So a good way to give
them the proper direction that the studentsdeserveis to differentiate
my instruction to their proper skill sets.
As a teacher you have to come up with activities that are both
relevantand rigorous enoughto grab the students' attention and keep
them engaged. So that is why I think the Flipped Classroom approachis
a great way to engage studentsboth at school and at home, not only to
providethem with great study habits, but also give them options. You
give the studentsoptionsthrough the use of EducationalTechnology
(the Masters DegreeI am currently pursuingand havea wealth of
knowledgeof). The next way you can addressthese issues is givingthe
studentsPBLopportunities. Problem and Project-Based Learningis not
only a great way to provideteam building(which companies are looking
for with new candidates)but also it providesstudentswith critical-
thinking skills in order to solve complexproblemsthat I plan out for
them duringunitsof instruction. So I would say the way to deliver
content in order to addressthese issuesis through a Flipped Classroom
and how you deliver the content is through PBLand Project-Based
Learninginitiatives.
As an educator I believe it is essential to not only learn the tools
necessary to create an interactive and tech-driven classroom
environment, butto have the know-how to do it. I believe that through
my experience, I create many significant opportunitiesto makethe
classroom morefun and engaging for my pupils, as well as providereal
world situations the studentswill find challenging. It is my goal to raise
expectations among my students. That is why as a teacher, it gives me a
real chance to preparemy studentswith the 21stcentury skills
necessary to succeed in the workforce.
