Complete trust or confidence in someone or something
Biblical Definition
Hebrews 11:1 (NLT)
Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually
happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see
FAITH
3. Mark 10:46-52 (NIV)
46 Then they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd,
were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (which means “son of Timaeus”), was
sitting by the roadside begging. 47 When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he
began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
48 Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of
David, have mercy on me!” 49 Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.”
So they called to the blind man, “Cheer up! On your feet! He’s calling you.” 50 Throwing
his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus.
51 “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him.
The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.”
52 “Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and
followed Jesus along the road.
FAITH
4. Matthew 9:20-22 (NIV)
20 Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up
behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. 21 She said to herself, “If I only touch his
cloak, I will be healed.”
22 Jesus turned and saw her. “Take heart, daughter,” he said, “your faith has healed
you.” And the woman was healed at that moment.
FAITH
5. Matthew 9:27-30 (NIV)
27 As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, calling out, “Have mercy
on us, Son of David!”
28 When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them, “Do you
believe that I am able to do this?”
“Yes, Lord,” they replied.
29 Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith let it be done to you”;
30 and their sight was restored.
FAITH
6. “Where is my faith? Even deep down there is nothing but emptiness and darkness. If
there be a God — please forgive me.”
"Jesus has a very special love for you. As for me, the silence and the emptiness is so
great that I look and do not see, listen and do not hear,“
“Please pray specially for me that I may not spoil His work and that Our Lord may show
Himself -- for there is such terrible darkness within me, as if everything was dead”
DOUBTS
7. English Definition
A feeling of uncertainty or lack of conviction
Biblical Definition
James 1:6-8 (NIV)
6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the
one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the
wind. 7 That person should not expect to receive anything from
the Lord. 8 Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all
they do.
DOUBTS(and Fear)
8. Mark 16:9-14 (NIV)
9 When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary
Magdalene, out of whom he had driven seven demons. 10 She went and told those who
had been with him and who were mourning and weeping. 11 When they heard that
Jesus was alive and that she had seen him, they did not believe it.
12 Afterward Jesus appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking
in the country. 13 These returned and reported it to the rest; but they did not believe
them either.
14 Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their
lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had
risen.
DOUBTS
9. Mark 16:9-14 (NIV)
24 Now Thomas (also known as Didymus[a]), one of the Twelve, was not with the
disciples when Jesus came. 25 So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!”
But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where
the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”
26 A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them.
Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be
with you!” 27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out
your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”
28 Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”
29 Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are
those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
DOUBTS
10. Matthew 28:18-20 (The Great Commission)
18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been
given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey
everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of
the age.”
DOUBTS
16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told
them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.
12. a) Doubt Your Doubts !!
Never doubt who you are. That’s the number-one trick of the enemy—to make you feel
inadequate or incapable. Remember you are a master-piece of God’s work !!
b) Feed Your Faith !!
Romans 10:17 (NKJV) So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
c) Pray !!
If you’ve been drowning in doubt, then it’s time to minimize the amount of time you
spend listening to others (and your innerself) and to maximize your prayer time (and
listening to God).
d) Focus Forward !!
Feeling fear does not mean it’s time to run away. It means it’s time to run to. Feeling
fear can easily develop into a stronghold of doubt, despair and discouragement;
Overcoming Doubts
13. YOU ARE A CONQUEROR !! What God has for you is in front of you.
Greater is He who is in you than He who is in the world !!
This is how you walk in ‘Godfidence’ !!
This is how you dismantle doubt. The doubt disappears when you make a
decision and take action. Stop thinking about it and remember You were born
for Heaven’s best.
Overcoming Doubts
Mark 11:23 NIV
23 “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw
yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but
believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.
14. Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.
Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus
Notas do Editor
Who has doubts when you pray (not about Jesus, about healing etc)?Is doubting normal?
Mind you, these were the same disciples who watched Jesus performed miracles of healing, casting, food multiplication and most importantly, the Resurrection! And some (pretty sure Thomas is one of them) actually doubted whether Jesus standing before them was real!
God has always had a specific design and intent for your life. Nothing about you is a mistake. In fact, you’re a masterpiece.Read the Bible dailyFocus on God.. Turn Your Eyes Upon JesusAnybody (and everybody!) who was called by God to do something great in the Bible had to face the fear in order to enter the promise. That’s how it works. Fear is a propellant and catalyst. But it’s also a gatekeeper. You cannot enter the promise unless you face your fears.
