The second I stepped into the establishment, I was enticed by the
aroma of different smells combining together.The waitress came over,
and explained the origin of the resturaunt to me, which was an interesting
story. The first Mountain Mike’s Pizza restaurant was established in 1978
in Palo Alto, California. What started as a single pizza restaurant with a
casual, family-oriented atmosphere, Mountain Mike’s Pizza has grown
into a leading pizza brand with more than 150 restaurants in California,
Oregon, Nevada and Utah. Mountain Mike’s old-world pepperoni is
made using a natural casing, creating a “teacup” look when cooked. Its
been their signature product for over thirty years.
I kept it classic because I wanted to put their pepperoni to the test.
I ordered a personal pizza, which is perfect for 1 person. The personal
pizza comes with up to 3 toppings, so, naturally, I doubled up on the
pepperoni. There was about a 15 minute wait, but considering they made
the pizza fresh and had a relatively full dining room of other patrons, that
was pretty a reasonable time to wait.
The pizza came out of the oven, and was in front of me within
a minute. After letting it cool, I picked up the first slice, and sank my
teeth into it. The pepperoni was a little crisp, a little spicy, and there was
a lot of it. The slight kick to the pepperoni was mouth-watering, and
packed a huge amount of flavor. I did nothing short of devouring my
personal sized pizza. The waitress came over and asked if I’d like to try
their dessert pizza - a cinnamon pizza complimented with a swirl of icing.
Although the smell made it extremely tempting, I was too full. I guess I
know what I’m going to try next time, because I will definitely be going
back, and I’ll be bringing a lot of people with me.
