1. Herbalife Family Foundation April, 2015
Other Languages
Spring has arrived for our regions in the Northern Hemisphere. Springtime is not just an end to
the cold weather, it is a symbol for regrown and rebirth. The plants that have been dormant all
winter are now getting nutrients from the ground and from the sky and are growing strong and
tall. Herbalife Family Foundation (HFF) wants to apply that symbolism to the thousands of
children we serve every day. Whether in the Northern or Southern Hemisphere, our regions
have been committed to growth and development of children in their Casa Herbalife programs.
Spotlight on North America
Ruth came to Casa de Esperanza after
being injured in a domestic violence
dispute. In her first 2.5 years of life, Ruth
lived with multiple caregivers – moved from
house to house when her mother was
unable to care for her due to her mental
health and substance abuse issues. She
was very small and underweight. Her initial
evaluation by a pediatrician revealed that
she was only in the 10th percentile for
height and weight. Eventually, strawberry
smoothies were found to be the key to
unlocking her appetite. In just a few
months, she has jumped to the 30th
percentile for height and weight. There is
no doubt that her time at Casa de
Esperanza is contributing to her positive
physical and emotional development.
From Around the World
2. North America hosted the 2015 President’s
Summit in Los Angeles in March. During the
event, HFF held it’s sold out Emerald City Ball.
The Ball brought the magic of Emerald City to
LA with a lush green forest and yellow brick
road at the LA Live Event Deck. The Emerald
City Ball raised $1.6 million for HFF through
ticket sales and a live and silent auction. North
America is thrilled about such a strong start for
fundraising for the year. Another incredible
accomplishment during Summit was Herbalife
making history with the World Record Workout.
Independent Herbalife Members, employees,
customers, friends and families came together
to set a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS®
achievement for most participants in a High
Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) in 24 hours in
multiple venues.
In South and Central America each country with a Casa program sent an invitation to their
markets to participate in the World Record Workout and to make a donation to HFF. The
countries asked for donations of food, school supplies and clothes for the local Casa Herbalife
children. The campaign for donations and the World Record Workout were both a huge
success for HFF.
EMEA had a Leadership Development weekend
in Łódź, Poland in March. There were
several fundraisers organized and held by
Members, including a silent auction and a stand
where Members could buy handmade Easter
Cards created by the children at the Falbogi
Casa Herbalife program. The region also
welcomed a new Casa Herbalife program in
Siberia at the end of the month.
Mexico is anticipating the opening of two new
Casa Herbalife programs next month. The two
program openings will be three weeks apart
from each other and will be serving children in
the Durango and Chihuahua areas.
