2. Why?
ï We have magazine adverts and music magazine adverts to purely promote the product.
Specifically for music magazine adverts it is either to promote a song, album, ep, or artist.
ï Not only should it promote whatever it is in an effective manner, it should also appeal to the
target audience of the artist. For it to appeal it should firstly be eye catching so that it stands out
from any competitors or anything similar.
ï An example of a target audience with music magazines is with the artist âCatfish and the
bottlemenâ whoâs target audience are both male and female young adults. This means their music
advert will be different to an artist such as âOne directionâ whoâs target audience is young girls.
3. Codes and conventions
ï Obviously the main conventions of a music magazine advert is the artists
ï : name, song/album title, image of the song/album, release date etc as these are all the main
components that an audience looks at first.
4. Codes and conventions
ï There are many other conventions such as:
ï Where you can purchase it, information about it such as a quote from the artists talking about it,
the record label/logo, any good reviews given about It, social media links, and finally any tour
dates if it is promoting a tour.
5. themes
ï There is usually some type of theme that goes along with an advert that involves the fonts and
font styles to all be consistent.
ï The colour scheme is also very common to be consistent within itself.
