8. The Future is Female
We drew inspiration for our store from the recent women’s marches. The theme
for our display, “The Future is Female,” inspires women to stand up and stand out.
To be brave and bold. The futuristic elements incorporated into the display include
stars, metallic, and glitter. We added a pop of pink to create a feminine feel and to
create visual interest. Our display’s ultimate goal is to create the vibe of a star-
filled galaxy of endless possibilities.

10. Elements and Principles of Design
Color-achromatic color scheme represented by the black and grey
articles of clothing with silver accents
Unity-created in our display through the cohesiveness of the black and
silver merchandise along with the black and silver props
Harmony-shown through the complementary elements of the stars,
glitter, and silver accents, which work together to create a unified
whole
11. Texture-seen in the display throughout the different fabrics including denim,
corduroy, mesh, and velvet. It is also demonstrated through our props, from the
smooth texture of the stars, the fine glitter sprinkled throughout the floor, and
the rigid texture of the disco balls.
Repetition-prevalent throughout the case due to the recurring design elements
like color and shape. The stars are not only seen hanging from the ceiling and
propped on the floor, they are also shown in many of the pieces of
merchandise.
Elements and Principles of Design
12. Our display utilizes a semi-realistic display setting. The essence of the
idea we are trying to convey is present, but it is up to the imagination
of the customers to finish the story for themselves. Because of the
futuristic design elements, our display setting could also be considered
slightly fantastical. Our display continues to present and promote
through our utilization of displaying related merchandise. Our
merchandise shares the same idea and theme, as well as colors.
