WELCOME
May 16, 2018
Dear Friends and Colleagues:
On behalf of the Harvard Business School Club of New York (HBSCNY), we welcome you to the 51st annual
Leadership Dinner, honoring business and community leaders who are making a difference. We are grateful
to you for being our partner in our endeavors to bring the thought leadership of Harvard Business School
and our New York alumni’s education and experience to work for our community.
We are retiring as Chair and President of HBSCNY and wish to thank all of our Directors, Officers, Club members,
HBS alumni, and members of the New York community for supporting us as we worked to enable the Club to
carry out its mission.
We are pleased to announce our successors Mark Tatum, MBA ’98, as Chair and Andrew Cheskis, MBA ’84,
as President. Mark, National Basketball Association’s (NBA’s) Deputy Commissioner and Chief Operating Officer,
has been an active member of the Club’s Board since 2014. Andy, formerly an executive of MasterCard Inc. for
24 years, is currently the Club’s Executive Vice President and previously the co-Vice President of the Club’s
Social Enterprise division.
We want to thank our Dinner Chair Jide Zeitlin, MBA ’87, and our wonderful honorees. A tremendous amount of
volunteer work has gone into this evening, including the extraordinary efforts of Leadership Dinner Committee
co-Chairs Bruce Marcus, MBA ’80, and Amy Vecchione, MBA ’84. We want to also thank the Committee members
who helped to make this a successful and memorable occasion.
We hope you all have a wonderful evening.
Sincerely,
Katherine Bahamonde Monasebian, MBA ’07, President, HBSCNY Bruce R. Bockmann, MBA ’67, Chairman, HBSCNY

The Social Enterprise Initiative at HBS generates and shares knowledge that helps individuals and organizations
create social value in the nonprofit, private, and public sectors. Social Enterprise plays a critical role in supporting the
School’s mission to educate leaders who make a difference in the world by integrating social enterprise-related research,
teaching, and activities into the daily life of HBS. An important way HBS graduates make a difference in the world is
through their leadership in social enterprise as managers and board members of nonprofits and as corporate leaders
engaging their businesses in social responsibility programs. Initiated in 2005, the Social Enterprise Award honors
graduates who further this important mission.
John C. Whitehead ’47 was the Founding Supporter of the Social Enterprise Initiative and Chair of the Social Enterprise
Initiative Advisory Board. One of Harvard Business School’s most distinguished graduates; he was a powerful role model
for younger generations of leaders. Throughout his career he demonstrated extraordinary leadership in the private,
public, and nonprofit sectors. The former Co-Chairman of Goldman, Sachs Co., Mr. Whitehead served as Deputy
Secretary of State in the Reagan Administration and was awarded The Presidential Citizen’s Medal. The 2006 Leadership
Dinner was the inaugural naming of this award in Mr. Whitehead’s honor.
